Although it offers density, the tannins and acid are well integrated, giving a soft and silky texture. It’s the perfect party quaffer or pair with steak, beef stew, or roasted lamb shanks, liberally involving charring, grilling or smoking. You can also enjoy this South American red with stuffed peppers, mushrooms, beans and Mexican dishes.
Seductive notes of earth, turned leaves, and dark wild blackberries greet you on the nose of this Cru Beaujolais. The medium bodied wine follows the nose with fresh fruit of blueberry, blackberry and black raspberries, along with an equal dose of mineral, stone and earth. Barry Family Cellars' 2023 Cab Franc is a wine you can put next to any good Chinon or Anjou Rouge. It's deeply spicy, savory and especially dark-fruited...giving the wine a more serious profile than many FLX Cab Francs.
An aromatic wine with lots of complexity, floral with pressed roses, spiced plum, licorice and blackberry. The palate shows come baking spice notes such as clove, licorice, and black pepper. More toast and macerated red cherries to finish. It is medium plus and drinking well now. This is a classic, example of Chateauneuf.
Deeply fruited with red and black fruit, hint of wild herbs and lovely olive notes that rides some applewood smoke. Supple tannin and a stony finish with moderate acidity provide texture and offers enough delicacy that makes it easy to like. It is a plump wine that can be sipped casually or savored with heavier protein.
This delicious red opens with deep aromas of smoke, tobacco, raspberry and blackberry with chocolate and coffee. Plush flavors of blackberry, black cherry, and fruit leather lend a touch of cola sweetness that is a nice counterpoint to the soft, fine tannins.

This Spanish blend of Garnacha and Syrah opens with dark, brooding, smokey cherry aromatics. The body is rich with juicy black cherry, chocolate, candied cherries, and touches of smoke. Finishing with soft tannins which complement the smoke and chocolate quite nicely.
"92 POINTS - The 2014 El Nido is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon from 35-year-old vines and the rest Monastrell from ancient vines fermented in the same way as Clio, starting in open-top, 4,500-liter stainless steel tanks with neutral yeasts and finishing in brand-new French and American oak barrels, where it also goes through malolactic. Aging in those new barrels lasted for almost two years. This is always quite ripe, and the Cabernet never shows any pyrazines or herbal aromas; there are plums, blackberries and a balsamic touch. This is full-bodied, powerful, concentrated and generously oaked. Bodegas El Nido was founded in 2002 and is part of the Gil Family Estate. The vineyards are comprised of 64 acres of old vine Monastrell, and 45 acres of 2- year old Cabernet Sauvignon. It was aged in barrels for about two years. This wine is big, complex and generous.
This Spanish red blend has pronounced aromas of dark fruits, raspberry coulis, baking spices, and black olives that extend onto the palate. The palate offers a more robust body with lifted acidity and fine tannins. Hints of coffee, integrated smoke, and other savory notes complement the ripe fruit.
Cherry red in colour with a ruby rim; red fruit overtones present in the nose, it is smoky with hints of liquorice. In the mouth, it is clean, tasty, fresh and balanced. It has a lengthy finish, both fruity and spicy.
This Tempranillo, Merlot, Garnacha blend is a serious wine, its black fruits (cherry and raspberry) bonding with graphite, iron, dark earth, and chocolate aromas. The palate is medium bodied; its concentration and complexity emerge with exposure to air. It finishes with a touch of forest floor and smoke framed by food-friendly tannins.

“The grapey and juicy 2022 5/4 is a co-fermentation of 40% Cencibel and 20% each Garnacha Tintorera, Airén and Malvar in stainless steel and four used barrels with indigenous yeasts and matured in concrete for nine months. It’s medium-bodied with 13% alcohol, good freshness (a pH of 3.4) and some dusty tannins that call for food.”
Quite Old World in its aromas with surprising bright fruit and Chambord-like raspberry with secondary notes of dill, coconut, and tobacco. The palate is delicious and delivers fresh fruit and acid which indicates it’s still in a prime drinking window. The tannins are soft but present on the finish with macerated cherries lingering.

A cabernet sauvignon with good density that is accessible now but could also age. There are stovetop cooked blueberries and raspberries that mingle with smoke. The intensity on the palate is good with blueberry or blackberry jam, moderate black pepper and smoke with seamless texture that is round medium tannins and medium yet still juicy acidity.
Aromas include dried cherries, plum, blackberry, sandalwood, and baking spice. Medium-bodied and rustic with rich and ripe mulberry, dark cherry, and licorice on the palate. Tannins are velvety and offer lovely structure; touches of cocoa and spice linger on the finish.
This Barbaresco is soft and enjoyable on the palate with clean aromas of bright red fruit, freshly picked rose petals and hints of savory spice. The wine’s soft tannins and well-integrated acidity make it incredibly enjoyable when served by-the-glass or with a myriad of rich and/or spicy foods.
From the Producer: Barda is the local term for “eroded steep slope” Often perceived as the “village level” Pinot Noir at Chacra, Barda is sourced from the estate’s “youngest vines” planted in the 1990s. The vines are ungrafted, from an original massale selection on sandy calcareous soils presenting a more high toned aromatic component in the wine. Barda is fermented in equal parts concrete and French oak, 15% of which is new followed by an 11 month elévage.
Unfined/unfiltered with minimal sulphur.
This 100% Syrah shows classic elements of black cherry, red plum, and garrigue on the nose. It is terroir-driven with sandalwood, licorice, light smoke, garrigue and amaro-esque medicinal herbs. The palate is medium weight with just-right acidity, rendering it a pleasant and easy drinking wine with nice complexity. Try with braises of root vegetables or with beans or lentils, chicken, lamb and beef dishes, or sautéed mushrooms. Add rosemary and thyme to pick up the wine’s herbal profile.
With bold fruit flavors and accents of sweet spice, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre form the base of the classic Rhône Red Blend, while Carignan, Cinsault and Counoise often come in to play. Though they originated from France’s southern Rhône Valley, with some creative interpretation, Rhône blends have also become popular in other countries. Somm Secret—Putting their own local spin on the Rhône Red Blend, those from Priorat often include Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In California, it is not uncommon to see Petite Sirah make an appearance.

Concentrated autumnal fruit offers a hawthorny bramble of blackberry and bilberry. Big-framed, muscular tannins are joined by plenty of acidity - it's very clearly built to last and confident in its ability to reward those with patience. Matured in 50% new oak. Notes of earth and leather on the nose with dark berries and oak. The medium-bodied palate has juicy acidity with blackberries, smoke, earth, forest floor, black pepper, and a pleasant, woody finish.

Lynch-Bages 2015 has a brilliant, deep colour with purple hues. Its nose clearly expresses aromas of cassis and dark fruit, mixed with the empyreumatic notes that come with ageing. It has a straightforward attack and a voluminous yet supple mid-palate. The wine has a marked but silky tannic structure, and a persistent finish illustrative of a particularly ripe vintage.
Tobacco, anise, earth and garrigue all come through in this wine. Over indulge with the aromas of red currants, smoke, baking spice, raspberry and violets. This is medium plus in body with a full and long finish with some warming qualities and medium plus tannins. This wine is still young but clearly exhibits some age worthy qualities.
Aromas include ripe dark cherry, coffee, and a touch of smoke. The flavors echo the aromas with earthy blackberries, ripe black cherries and barbeque notes. This is ripe, savory and robust, yet stays balanced with a velvety mouthfeel.
"Jean-Michel Laporte (previously at La Conseillante) arrived as technical director in 2018, just as this wine was being bottled, and it's not a bad vintage to usher him in to the world of Château Talbot. I drank this at friend's house a few months ago, and it had been open 24 hours by the time we were pouring it out, which just might be the ideal time, as the tannins were soft and open, and everything felt plush and welcoming. It has the balance of the appellation, the precision that Talbot has increasingly showcased over the past few years, and a sappy feel to the tannins. 50% new oak. This co-fermented Chateauneuf is complex and appealing with scents reminiscent of potpourri, spiced plum, cassis and pressed flowers. There is a seduction about the aromas, like fine chocolate and wild animal; think truffle. It offers an opulent palate that is lovely, with blueberry, black currant, cooked plums, spice box, black tea, violets and forest floor. There are also hints of minerality and light toast joining with the ripe fruit. This full-bodied, flavorful red still offers "relief" and a sense of freshness which creates balance in the wine. It is texturally attractive and structurally balanced with medium acidity, well managed tannins and a long finish.
Opening with bright fresh red berries, red clay earth and forest floor. The palate is focused and concentrated with good depth. It is medium plus in body with moderate acidity and rounded tannins. The flavors are layered with kirsch, mixed cherries, clove, toast, vanilla and baking spice with smoke.
Perfumed aromas of red plum and mixed cherries are fragrant and inviting. On entry, this medium weight wine has soft tannins with gentle and ripe red fruit at the core and a cocoa edge, balanced by fresh acidity.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our consistently favorite sites for cabernet sauvignon: our estate Davis and Caywood Vineyards, as well as our longtime grower partner Standing Stone Vineyards. These sites have two distinctive soil types, Honeoye silt loam and Valois gravelly loam. The Honeoye series consists of very deep soils formed in loamy till that are consistent with the steep soils on till plains, ridgelines, and drumlins in the area. The Valois gravelly loam soils are also very deep, very well drained soils formed of shale, siltstone, and sandstone.
A Finger Lakes Lemberger that smells of plush smoke, dense black cherry, chocolate, candied red fruits, and cola. The palate is a juicy medium weight with nice concentration, medium tannins, and flavors of smoke, black raspberry, black cherry, and black currant.
MC² is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon and is our fan-favorite red blend meant for everyday consumption.
Each variety and vineyard are picked, fermented, and aged separately and combined after 10 months of ageing in barrel before bottling. In 2023, this blend was 63% sourced from east Seneca Lake and 37% sourced from west Cayuga Lake, with 51% of the blend being from our estate vineyards. With the varying topographies, soils, vineyard age, and varieties planted, the blend truly encapsulates the season from mid-September through the end of October.
This wine is dominated by Pinot noir which comes through on the nose with forest floor, button mushrooms, black pepper and spiced red cherry. The palate opens with riper raspberry, cranberry and pomegranate and nice density. Secondary notes of tobacco, black pepper and earth follow. Tannins are round, acidity is moderate and the finish is earthy.
Vibrant aromas include cassis, menthol/eucalyptus, sundried tomato, and baking spice. Concentrated flavors echo the aromas with more rich black fruit and menthol supported by supple, integrated tannins; warm spices linger on the longer finish.
Perfumed aromas that draw the drinker in with black cherry, forest floor and mulling spices. This wine is clearly developed and clean with fine tannins and integrated acidity. The flavors are similar to the aromas but a touch brighter with ripe cherry and a touch of smoke shining through.
This fun and fruity red tastes like a Gamay or Grenache. It is medium weight with fine tannins and moderate acidity, along with some carbonic notes to it.
