Tasting Notes
Grapes for this wine were harvested from 25 plots throughout the estate. They were whole-cluster pressed before co-fermenting. Ageing lasted for 12 months in a variety of oak: 15% in new barrels, and 85% in 1-4 year old barrels. The wine was bottled without filtration.
Château de Saint Cosme sits on the site of a Gallo-Roman villa and has been in existence since 1416. Winemaker Louis Barruol took over from his father in 1993 and began a negociant arm of the business in 1997. The property has been in the family since 1490 with 14 generations of vignerons tending the historic site.
