Concentrated aromas of blueberry compote, cassis and black plum with savory notes that make you want to dive into the glass; think licorice, tobacco, roasted tomatoes, mint and BBQ sweetness. The aromas are upheld on the palate with a smoky/meaty note, roasted red pepper, more raspberry and cherry, equally complex tertiary notes of leather, bitter cocoa, poppyseed, campfire smoke, and menthol. The texture is well-integrated with supple tannins, medium acidity and great concentration. This wine would do well with something smoked or wrapped in bacon.
