What you have here in the bottle is a medium to full bodied Chardonnay with balanced flavors of vanilla, orange blossom, pear and apple. Toasty oak adds to the long, silky finish.

Here's a wine from the Arbois (eastern France in the Jura region between Burgundy and Switzerland) that offers an enjoyable amount of oxidation and age. From the producer: From 100 % dry- farmed Swartland and chenin that was planted over 20 years ago on a hilltop from where one can view the entirety of Table Mountain from afar. An alluring deep gold mimics the neighboring wheat fields of this region. Lemongrass, nectarines & flowers reveal themselves on the nose. A wonderfully medium bodied personality on the pal ate with rich, l a sting notes of ripe summer peaches & nartjies alongside a grounding undertone of straw. Moreish & long lasting.

Floral aromas of chamomile and honeysuckle along with stone fruit and a touch of lemon peel lead to a succulent palate. Flavors are concentrated with apricot, dried papaya and more floral notes supported by juicy acidity on medium-plus bodied frame. Lemon curd and peach notes linger on the finish.

Aromas of grapefruit, lemon, apple and peach emerge on the nose.  This wine is medium plus in body with glazed stone fruits such as candied white peach, supported by juicy acidity. It's ripe and roundish, but also clean and vibrant. 

The wine shows high aromatic intensity on the nose, with aromas of tropical fruit and hints of fennel and fresh grass. The palate confirms the nose with a soft mouthfeel and pleasantly bitter finish providing lift.

This smells clean and mineral but there is also powdered sugar, kiwi and lime fruit and anise. The palate is balanced with tartness like key lime pie with lychee, nectarine and fresh cut grass.

From the producer: Clear and brilliant in the glass, the 2023 Riesling opens with notes of lemongrass and a touch of petrol (a hallmark of quality fruit driven by mineral rich soils). On the palate the wine is lush and juicy with topical flavors of mango and pineapple that follow through with a clean finish with hints of citrus and peach.

Tart tropical fruit like pineapple, kiwi, starfruit, green apple, green pear, and lime zest greet you on the nose. On the palate, these flavors continue along with tart grapefruit, floral notes, a touch of bitterness, peach blossom, a kiss of vanilla, sage and mint, finalizing with juicy green apple and green pear on the finish.

This unoaked Chardonnay offers fresh flavors of pineapple and grilled peaches with nice acidity to keep the palate lifted. The texture is attractive with both freshness and a broad mouthfeel. It finishes with glazed citrus and sweet snap pea.

This gorgeous Pinot Gris is lightly oaked, rich and delicious evoking peaches and cream.

This Finger Lakes Sauvignon Blanc gives aromas of green melon, green currants, starfruit and florality. It is medium weight, crisp and fresh with melon, green pear, green apple, pink grapefruit, sweet lime, lime pith, starfuit and parsley notes.

Ripe grapefruit aromas with a touch of kiwi and starfruit introduce this wine. The palate delivers key lime and ripe peach with flinty minerality. This classic German Riesling is very clean, well made, and offers a deftly-balanced hint of sweetness between its fruit, acidity and slate backbone.

This concentrated, semi-dry Riesling offers excellent quality-value ratio. On the palate, flavors of peach, nectarine and glazed citrus mix with clean minerality, notably flint. It is medium-bodied, nicely balanced and refreshing—the fruit forward flavors are luscious and likeable, yet stay poised and crisp.

Aromas of apple, pear, vanilla and butterscotch are present on the nose. The  palate delivers notes of apples, baked apples, poached pears, lemon curd and vanilla bean, along with butterscotch. It is concentrated, clean, well balanced between creaminess and crisp acid. There are hints of oak, mostly a touch of caramel merging with the fruit. This is just over medium weight.

Floral aromas include rosewater, chamomile, and honeydew melon. This wine is balanced between an almost sweet honeysuckle note and slightly bitter white tea flavors with peach and citrus notes on a medium-bodied frame.

This estate-grown Cayuga Lake Pinot Gris begins with aromas of stone fruits, both fresh and baked.  The palate is medium to full in weight, creamy and rich with ripe orchard fruits like pear, apple and apricot. The wine is just barely dry with bright acidity to balance it.

The nose is enticing with aromas of floral, peach, apricot and minerality. On the palate there is a pleasant light bitterness that balances with the full texture and bold flavor of this wine. Flavors of preserved citrus fruits, glazed orange rind and orange blossom, with peach and apricot as well. This wine is ripe, juicy and has a long delicious finish.

This is a very clean, focused and lean wine. The aromas and flavors offer a lot of terroir driven minerality, with wet stone, precise acidity and lemon pith. The palate has medium plus acid and a light body with honeysuckle, grapefruit and shale.

Aromas include melon rind, apple, orange and a touch of vanilla confection. The wine has notes of apple, lemon, lemon rind and stony minerality. This is medium weight with juicy acid. It's clean, yet complex, with touches of salinity and savoriness ofsetting the citrus and orchard fruit.

This very aromatic wine offers lightly bitter ginger skin and lychee. It smells as though it might be too much of a good thing, but it isn’t. Lovely flavors of citrus, ginger, lychee, and orange blossom join clean acidity in this medium-bodied wine with a longer finish.

The aromas in this wine are elegant with sweet oak, butter, vanilla, apple, pear and a whiff of smoke. This New Zealand classic is quite aromatic with notes of pink grapefruit, passion fruit, white pepper, and peach. The palate is medium in body with a round texture and medium acid. Flavors of ripe tropical fruits (star fruit, passion fruit and a bit of mango) combine with refreshing citrus notes on the finish.

This wine is fresh and aromatic with hints of white flowers and apple. In the mouth, T Bianco has enough acidity to balance its gentle aromatics with more tree fruit flavors supporting.

Aromas of peach, peach skin, pear, apple and lemon introduce this wine. The palate offers baked pear, yellow apple and peach fruit. This is medium bodied and balances a round mouthfeel with plenty of freshness.

This classic Txakoli gives aromas of fresh nectarine, lime zest and crushed stones/beach notes. The palate is lightly spritzy with pineapple, lemon-lime, grapefruit and peach. There is minerality, crisp acid and a long, saline finish. It's perfect for shellfish, fish cheese, appetizers, and light foods.

This Verdicchio presents aromatics of pear, clay, white tea, dried peaches, minerality, and wet stone. It drinks pleasantly with apples and apple skin, pear, almond, and some tropical notes like pineapple. Slightly less than medium bodied with a very silky texture and high acidity.

Chalk-like mineral notes provide a crisp backbone supported by pear, yellow apple, lemon curd and peach. The palate is bright and fresh with crisp citrus, fresh acidity and lingering minerals/salinity.

The nose begins with aromas of lemon, lime, nectarine and mineral. On the palate, there is nice contration of white peach, lemon, almond, mineral and chalk. This is medium weight with fresh acidity and a silky finish.x

The nose is fresh with scents of honeysuckle, rounded citrus and lime. This medium-bodied white offers yellow apple, melon, lemon, savory herbs and flinty minerality. The acidity is elegant and balanced by rounder texture on the mid-palate. 

Intense aromas of stone fruits, lemon zest and light salinity on the nose. The palate is mineral-driven yet slightly creamy with juicy green pear, lemon and sea salt notes. It’s medium-bodied with finish is crisp and clean finish.

This unoaked Chardonnay is medium weight and gives lovely orchard fruit aromas and flavors from a warm vintage. It has golden apple and bosc pear notes with a hint of citrus and pineapple. The texture has just the right amount of creaminess and concentration, giving a soft, silky mouthfeel. It deftly balances concentration with fresh acidity, making it perfect for drinking on its own or versatile with food.

A vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with lovely melded aromatic notes of tropical fruits. The smooth, textured palate is concentrated with passionfruit and citrus flavors. Well integrated natural acidity leaves a pure and lengthy finish.

Freshly grated lime zest greet the taster with pear, apple and wet stone minerality. The magic occurs on the palate with almost off-dry flavors of ripe peach, apricot, sundew melon, marzipan and yellow plum. The acidity is medium plus with a medium bodied frame that tastes riper than the aromas suggest.

This lovely Gewurztraminer gives aromas of lychee, ginger skin, rosewater and honeysuckle following on to a bright and flavorful palate where lychee, jasmine, ginger, pear, and lime zest add complexity. It is medium plus to full in body, with good ripeness, integrated acidity and a round texture, finishing with citrusy notes.

Fruity, floral aromas and flavors of opal apples, cherry blossoms and apricot, with a supple, tangy, medium body and a polished and engaging long finish with shades of golden kiwi, ripe peach, pineapple, sultry with a long finish. The flavors seem honeyed with ugly fruit, cantaloupe and starfruit that is juicy sweet and very drinkable.

Refreshing aromas of lemon curd, lime zest and a distinctive chalk-like minerality on the nose. Juicy and concentrated on the palate with pear and citrus noted supported by fresh acidity and a touch of rain-soaked shale on the longer finish.

Bursting with tropical fruit, citrus, and floral notes of honeysuckle, this wine has a hint of sweetness that makes it so refreshing.

A fuller, more plush style of Riesling. Notes of Orange blossom and shale-driven minerality show through with striking intensity. Layers of ripe orchard fruit and tropical fruit coat the palate, supported by broad, lingering acidities.

From the producer: Generously fruit-forward and refreshingly light, the Riesling Semi-Dry displays our signature varietal's natural verve. Sourced from early picks in vineyard blocks surrounding Seneca Lake, it offers aromas of wildflower and orchard fruit against a lean, citrus backbone.

Lightly floral aromas include orange blossom, lime and saline-like minerality. Flavors echo the aromas over juicy acid and an almost waxy texture with pleasant bitterness reminiscent of almond skin.

From the producer: An exceptional white wine characterized by light yellow color and aromas dominated by yellow fruits and lemon flowers. The wine is bone-dry, with distinctive character, considerable structure, and minerality and crisp acidity. Plump and delicious, fruity, clean and unadorned.

From the Producer: 01/2024: Bright pale yellow colour. The nose is impressive, precise, showing wet stones aromas typical from granitic soils, still tighter and leaner than the Riesling Roche Granitique (the younger vines) but eventually opens up with aeration and revealing white fruit aromas. The palate has a mineral density, voluptuous with tension. The finish is dry and long, showing a reassuring richness. The absence of stress in the vineyard can be seen in this harmonious wine that will be capable of good ageing.

From the producer:  Pale yellow colour. The nose is still on its reserve but the signature of the limestone marls is very present: citrus fruits, wet stone and opens towards the flower of acacia, even lime blossom over time. Both discreet and at the same time seductive. The energy of the wine felt on the nose is found on the palate. The attack is ample, the wine coats the mouth with harmony and power, opening on a beautiful aromatic complexity of ripe fruit. The typical acidity of this cru is found on the finish, tense and salivating, broad and caressing, under the influence of the clay which brings power and delicacy to the wine. It is a wine that has a very long aging potential!

From the producer: 01/2024: Pale yellow colour. Restraint nose, profoundly influenced by the volcanic soil: smoke, flint, earthy, which eventually opens to more fruity aromas after a long aeration. Very complex nose but a strong originality and identity. The palate at first appears to have a medium power but builds up to a long dry aftertaste. As often in the past, the Rangen Riesling always manages to hide its power in his youth. Harmonious structure, vivacious acidity which finishes with strong salty flavours, adding to the length of the wine. This wine appears to be delicately chiselled and full of energy in a solar and warm vintage. To keep!

From the producer: Pale yellow colour. The nose shows the strong limestone influence: mineral, stone driven, citrus fruits and some white fruits (peach) after some aeration. The wine fermented in a large recent oak cask (foudre) and was on full lees until bottling. The palate is quite strict, bone dry, with a racy sapid acidity that gives a juicy texture on the finish. The wine has a nice concentration, but because it is bone dry with a ripe acidity, it feels elegant and delicate.
