Located on the eastern shores of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY, Damiani Wine Cellars produces elegant, hand-crafted wines using grapes sourced from estate and managed low-yield, balanced vineyards. Winemaker Lou Damiani and grape grower Phil Davis are forging a reputation within the Finger Lakes, marking it as a region capable of producing full-bodied vinifera red and beautiful white wines. Together, Lou and Phil nurture over 23 acres of vinifera vines that surround the winery and tasting room.
Medium-strength aromas of plum, red fruit, bramble, and toasted barrel. The palate is red-fruited-ripe cherry, cranberry, red plum, and raspberry. Medium acidity and medium-plus tannins provide structure to this fresh, tart, and lively wine. The finish offers tart fruit and smoke and barrel notes. A solid wine despite the difficult vintage.
