This bourbon is a beautiful, rose-brown color. Aromatics are of malt, citrus and light baking spice. On the palate, there are notes of apricot, apples, vanilla,cinnamon, maple, melted butter, golden brown toast and a sweet maltiness, as well as notes of flan and creme brulee topping. Very smooth with integrated alcohol.

From the producer: Portofino Dry Gin’s initial notes are from fresh lemon and crisp juniper that transport us to the hills of Portofino. They give way to a universe of Mediterranean flavors: from the wild rosemary and lavender perfumes of the coastal scrub to the sweet and delicate notes of marjoram and sage that evoke the taste of traditional Ligurian cuisine.

The nose is of cherry candy, orange, citrus and cinnamon. Lifted licorice and medicinal red cherry are sweet and viscous with a biting bitterness on the midpalate to the finish. This is dominated by red cherry with oranges and a long, bitter almond finish.

This cocktail in a can calls to mind salty tequila with fresh orange zest and a hint of confection. The palate mirrors the nose with just the right amount of sweetness and lingering orange flavor. Its soft spritz and a kiss of bergamot impart a slightly creamy character to this delightful beverage.

Prized by the Romans and Crusaders, its cultivation spread throughout Europe and later to the orchards of North American colonial settlers who appreciated its nervy character: rich, intensely tart and slightly bitter. The Damson stands today as an endangered variety from a bygone era.

This gentle style of whiskey is like peaches soaked in brandy with caramel, amaretto, pie crust and white pepper. There is distinctive apricot and nuttiness on the palate and it round on your tastebuds.

Decidedly green (and not just from the historical connection between Pastis liqueurs and Absinthe) with fresh, roughly chopped herbs, warming spices and, of course, the distinctive notes of wormwood. Botanicals from the foothill of the Italian alps, Piedmontese wormwood, mint, thyme, juniper, yarrow, genepy, Gentiana lutea, Gentiana acaulis, and cinchona bark. Sweetened with beet sugar, notes of mint, chamomile tea, orange compote, fennel, honey and an earthy bitterness. Complex with a soft balance between sweet and bitter.  

The Pechuga expresses a delicate balance in which the smokiness is softened noticeably by the protein and wild fruit. A rich mouthfeel offers flavors of roasted fruit, subtle minerality and a slight smokiness, finishing dry on the back of the palate.

This is aged for 5-8 years in oak barrels which gives it distinctive warming spices that are layered on molasses cookies, butterscotch and banana foster with hints of orange zest. The palate is creamy and round with butter and golden raisin. There is pineapple and toasted marshmallow on the finish.

From Producer: Bushmills Original is a smooth and versatile triple distilled blend. An approachable whiskey which has been matured in both bourbon and sherry casks resulting in fresh fruit and vanilla notes.

On the nose, this is a combination of stewed jam, black pepper, medicinal notes, roots and bark. On the palate, it's a mix of sweet cherry and sassafras with twig/roots, black pepper, more earthiness and a light bitterness. Overall, it's less fruity than Aperol.

The primary flavors of Cardamaro are cardoon and blessed thistle, with a short repose in oak for spice and and texture. Notes of brown baking spices of cardamom and cloves, ginger and sassafras. Sweet with an herby bitterness from the cardoons. Drink as a digestif. In cocktails, outstanding with cider, whiskey, or use in place of vermouth.

This intriguing rum is from the tiny Denominacion de Origen of Charanda in Michoacan, Mexico. It is a 50/50 blend of molasses distilled on a column still and fresh cane juice from a copper pot still. The sugar cane varietal, Saccharum Officinarum, is grown at 4180 feet above sea level in the red-colored volcanic soils of Uruapan, the village most associated with Charanda rums. This is wonderfully smooth, rich, and a touch funky with hints of mint and almond. A delicious alternative to Rum from the Caribbean!

This delicious rum is fragrant with coffee bean and white chocolate notes. On the palate, it gives white flavors like white chocolate, vanilla, custard cream and white pepper. This is soft and rounded, has a creamy sweetness and is a terrific value for its fragrance and flavor. Try it with a pina colada or mojito or just sip on its own.

This bourbon from the Hudson Valley smells like butterscotch and maple that shows as sweetness on the palate with a pleasant creamy spicy finish. There are some rye notes and soft finish.

Ginseng, gentian, all the citrus fruits, orange zest, lemon, grapefruit and lime pith and juice with white floral notes. It smells juicy and tastes bitter and sweet at the same time. It is balanced with a sweet entry on the palate and bitterness on the finish.

Distilled from more than 10 pounds of fresh mountain cherries exclusively of the region surrounding Zug. The brandies gently evolve for years in glass demijohns before bottling. Kirsch is famously enjoyed sipped neat adfter dinner or as aperitif mixed with club soda. In cocktails it pairs magically with Genepy. In the kitchen, its an essential ingredient in a traditional fondue.

This 10-year cognac is not in the style of charred barrels and boozy alcohol. Rather it is gentle, refined, restrained, pure, quaint and wine-like. The flavors are lively, fresh and youthful with hints of orange, salt, stone, laurel and sugar-crusted cookies.

This digestif is very aromatic with alpine herbs but predominantly mint and spearmint. The palate is equally intense and mint driven with some dark fruits like date and fig represented with herbaceous qualities. 

Maplejack Liqueur starts as an apple brandy made from New York State apples. It is aged in oak barrels and sweetened with local maple syrup. Aromas of caramel and mulled cider greet you. The palate is round, with just a touch of sweetness from the maple syrup

Sassafras and tree bark aromas with fresh red berries. The palate has a syrupy sweetness that balances the bitterness that continues to increase on the palate. There is bright red cherry, rose petals, and wild strawberries with some orange zest on the finish. The palate contains bark and forest floor notes.

Hints of peach and grapefruit and light notes of pepper and licorice can be found in this refined tequaila. Aged for at least 6 months in very old George Dickel Tennessee whiskey barrels, this Reposado is an expression of the landscape, with flavors influenced by the floral, herbal, and citrus plantings grown at Rancho El Pandillo.

This pretty gin from Mallorca shows good lift and a range of flavors from spice, lemon zest, and orange peel supported by creamy texture and nice density.

Caramel and dark rustic maple with peach notes. The sweet malt and apricot mix with baking spice and the same peachiness on the palate.

More bitter than Cappelletti and Contratto Bitter. Flavors are more in the "brown" range (woodsiness, pine resin, roots, bark, sassafras and savory notes). Mouthwateringly bitter.

A classic aromatic nose with lavender, juniper, rosemary, citrus and quinine. This is high-toned, sippable and silky with the palate delivering orange peel and pith, juniper berry, spearmint, and bilberry. This has a long lasting finish with lemon zest. Nicely rounded texture on the entry and just-right spice and sweetness on the ending.

Recognized internationally, the award winning whiskey is finished in 20 year old Oloroso Sherry casks which give the Bourbon floral notes layered with fig, roasted walnuts, candied fruit and spicy rye.

This gin is very smooth and complex! There are aromas of juniper, dandelion, lemon, golden raisins, coriander and cilantro. The palate is reminiscent of oak influence with black pepper, spices, grilled lime, anise and chamomile. It is soft and round mouthful with lingering spice. 

This tequila has no additives and is a small production of grandson of Don Julio. This smells creamy, herbal spicy and clean. The palate is filling, with clean cotton, vanilla, dried herbs and some coriander. The finish is clean and almost creamy.

This NY coffee liqueur is made with fair trade organic coffee. The base spirit is fermented and distilled from yogurt whey. Earthy, chocolatey, creamy and sweet. Shake over ice for the perfect espresso martini, works great equal parts with vodka, tequila and mezcal or add tonic water for a refreshing Manhattan Special style cocktail!

Mal Bien Papalote from Don Ciro and Javier Barranca was produced in Chilapa de Alvarez, Guerrero. Don Ciro has been distilling agave spirits longer than most mezcaleros have been alive. His grandson Javier, on the other hand, is relatively new to the family business, having spent much of his 20s in “El Norte.” Working together for the past 7 years, theirs is a story of tradition, the passing of generational knowledge and its adaptation in a new era.

Aperitivo Mazzura distinguishes itself in both its multidimensional flavor and stunning fuchsia color. Botanicals are sourced from Dolomite hills and valleys in Italy's Triveneto region, birthplace of the spritz. Lovely notes of orange, apricots and marmalade with malty maple greeting you on the nose. The palate continues along these notes adding butterscotch, baking spices and a little heat. The texture is quite full but with a soft round mouthfeel.

Held in recycled glass this unfiltered and wheat-based vodka impressed us with freshly cut cucumber, a hint of sweetness and a soft creamy texture.

One of Italy's most iconic Amaro's from Bologna. Light and gentle, notes of orange, orange peel, cinnamon, sarsaparilla and honey with wonderful richness and just the right touch of bitterness in the finish. Great as a digestif or in a cocktail.

This gin is slick and well made with classic scents of coriander, peppermint, lemon zest, lime peel and classic juniper. The flavors are high toned and refreshing; this gin is different from any other London style that we carry, ending with cardamom notes. Spicy on the palate, classy and extremely satisfying.

Using a family recipe since 1897, Nonino Amaro is a careful infusion of alpine herbs, enriched today by the presence of UE grapes aged over 5 years.

This lovely gin has attractive aromatics of lemongrass, citrus and freesia. On the palate is offers lemon zest, lemon, cardamom, spice and green olive notes with a light ginger-herbal tone. Very fresh and bright, this is a delicious value!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt The nose is rich and smokey. The medicinal notes are quite evident with notes of the sea; seaweed, tarry ropes. There are notes of cut hay and wood smoke rising with a gentle estery sweetness. The palate is thick and full. Notes of citrus with smooth sweetness. The smoke wafts with notes of seaweed. The oak is quite rich with grist and cereal and malt. The finish is of good length with fruit and dry oak.

This elegant 23-year aged rum offers flavors of apricot, orange, butterscotch, vanilla, caramel, nutmeg and baking spice. Complex, refined and intense, but not heavy or overly sweet. A delightful sipping rum!

From the producer: Pale golden hue. Fresh nose redolent of rosehips and white pepper. Very lively at the attack, then fine length with lingering creamy notes.

This grape to glass gin is distilled from Finger Lakes wine and infused with juniper, orange peel and pollinator friendly botanicals including cardamom, rosehip and milkweed. It is then proofed with Catskill mountain spring water. Notes of orange blossoms, coriander, juniper, elderberry and citrus.

Crimson Amaro is an herbaceous aperitivo style amaro from the Catskills. A secret blend of more than 15 botanicals, among them juniper, wormwood, sage, angelica, gentian, and orris root. Naturally colored with cochineal and naturally sweetened with honey.  Notes of rose water, pink grapefruit, cherry cordial and sage with a Campari-esque bitterness. Perfect for a Negroni or spritz. 

This is like drinking a cold brew coffee with some creaminess but has a pleasant bitterness and would do well with an ice cube.

Impeccably clean and undeniably mixable, Singani 63 is a 500-year-old Bolivian spirit distilled from Muscat of Alexandria grapes high in the Andes.

This is a balanced proper cocktail that finishes clean.

The grapefruit is light aromatically but flavorful on the palate with the peppercorns not being overpowering and balanced.

From Producer: Silky with a subtle sweet and spicy finish.

This appealing, soft, French gin gives notes of fig, fig leaves, a fruity  sweetness, black pepper and a creamy mouthfeel. It is as attractive on the palate as it's bottle.

Distilled in Kagoshima, Japan by Hamada Shuzo from 84% imo (sweet potato) and 16% kome koji (rice koji). Daiyame is made from sweet potatoes that have been aged using a unique aging method to fully extract their aroma. It has a sweet aroma reminiscent of fresh lychee and rosewater. Enjoy Daiyame 25 neat, with seltzer on the rocks, or with hot water as an oyuwari.

Aroma: The first impression is herbal with hints of mint and anise, followed by white pepper and spices (cinnamon and clove), mild citrus notes. It allowed to breathe in the glass, apple and floral notes appear. Taste: Cooked agave, mint, pepper with a residual sweetness (white chocolate) and slight herbaceousness. It presents a long, finish, spicy and sweet at the same time, as well as very complex and rounded.

A polished and clean style with notes of white pepper, mineral water, cactus and subtle baked apple. The palate is focused with cilantro, queen Anne's lace, cucumber, and slightly sweet lime.

Review From Master of Malt: NOSE: Cedar, toasted brown sugar, apricot-filled pastries. PALATE: Caramel and vanilla sit up front, with notes of nutmeg, milky coffee and macadamia developing in the background. FINISH: Lingering waxy fruit and a tickle of black pepper.

An atypical but attractive gin with green notes like shiso, grass and mint on the nose. This is not juniper-forward, it is more akin to Chartreuse with notes of green peppercorn, mint, pine and shiso. It's surprisingly smooth and has a lingering, soft, sweetness. Give this a try in a Gimlet, perhaps after mowing your grass.

Pleasant aromas of maple and red cherry. As expected the flavors are black pepper, red cherry, forest floor with warming alcohol, add a splash of water or an ice cube to this ready to go cocktail.

This is a triple distilled Italian grain wheat. The nose has a little bit of spice like black pepper and the palate is round and smooth.
