Tasting Notes

On the nose, this freshing white shows Meyer lemon, lemon curd and lemon candy balanced with wild meadow flowers and honeysuckle. On the palate, this zesty and fresh wine shows complex layers of lemon-baked pastry, gentle notes of cream, sweet clover and jasmine. It is medium in body, acidity and length with the slightest amount of zippy carbonation.

Made with 100% Elbling, a grape planted 2000 years ago by the Romans in the upper Mosel. Today's Elbling is grown in the same Muschelkalk soils, the seashell-strewn floor of an ancient seabed. Only a handful of dedicated growers continue to create these traditional, steely, mineral-redolent dry Elblings. Kellermeister Michael Furst is an Elbling Wunderkind.
