On the nose, this refreshing white shows Meyer lemon, green apple and pear balanced with wet stone minerality. On the palate, this zesty and fresh wine shows lemon, quince and some chalkiness with this being medium in body, acidity and length with the slightest amount of zippy carbonation.
Made with 100% Elbling, a grape planted 2000 years ago by the Romans in the upper Mosel. Today's Elbling is grown in the same Muschelkalk soils, the seashell-strewn floor of an ancient seabed. Only a handful of dedicated growers continue to create these traditional, steely, mineral-redolent dry Elblings. Kellermeister Michael Furst is an Elbling Wunderkind.
