Between medium and full-bodied, this offering from Southeastern Spain is chock full of mulberries, cooked plums and raspberries with a sprinkling of cocoa. Baking spices and a hint of underbrush linger through the finish.

Aromas of cherry skin and cooked cherries, iron and a hint of smoke/tobacco introduce this Croatian wine. It is just over medium weight with dark cherry, plum, and black currant fruit structured by slightly grippy tannins and juicy acidity. There are slightly smoky and dried herb notes chiming in on the palate, finishing with wild red berries and baking spice.

From the Producer This year’s rendition is 76% Zinfandel, 11% Carignan, 5% Petite Sirah, 4% Grenache and 3% Cinsault, with the remainder being assorted mixed varieties such as Mourvèdre, Negrette and more. Though a blend of over a dozen ranches, the majority comes from Teldeschi, Evanghelho, Katushas, Nervo, Sodini, Beeson, Bedrock, Old Hill, and Papera. We are extremely pleased with the resulting wine—one that shows off freshness, wonderful fruit tones, spice, and pepper laden perfume built around a core of flat-out delicious fruit character. This one should be a great crowd-pleaser.

Brambly fruit like cassis, blackberry, and black cherry scents with white pepper. This wine is lithe with toothy tannins and velvet texture. The flavors have nice concentration with good acidic lift. The finish is very dry and a little hot with iron and minerality on the end.

This Spanish blend of Garnacha and Syrah opens with dark, brooding, smokey cherry aromatics. The body is rich with juicy black cherry, chocolate, candied cherries, and touches of smoke. Finishing with soft tannins which complement the smoke and chocolate quite nicely.

"92 POINTS - The 2014 El Nido is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon from 35-year-old vines and the rest Monastrell from ancient vines fermented in the same way as Clio, starting in open-top, 4,500-liter stainless steel tanks with neutral yeasts and finishing in brand-new French and American oak barrels, where it also goes through malolactic. Aging in those new barrels lasted for almost two years. This is always quite ripe, and the Cabernet never shows any pyrazines or herbal aromas; there are plums, blackberries and a balsamic touch. This is full-bodied, powerful, concentrated and generously oaked. Bodegas El Nido was founded in 2002 and is part of the Gil Family Estate. The vineyards are comprised of 64 acres of old vine Monastrell, and 45 acres of 2- year old Cabernet Sauvignon. It was aged in barrels for about two years. This wine is big, complex and generous.

This Spanish red blend has pronounced aromas of dark fruits, raspberry coulis, baking spices, and black olives that extend onto the palate. The palate offers a more robust body with lifted acidity and fine tannins. Hints of coffee, integrated smoke, and other savory notes complement the ripe fruit.

This co-fermented Chateauneuf is complex and appealing with scents reminiscent of potpourri, spiced plum, cassis and pressed flowers. Aromas of oak, cedar, leather, smoke mulberry, blueberries and spice. The palate is dominated by darker fruits: blueberry compote, cassis accompanied by spice, plum, and licorice root. It is medium-plus in body with supporting acidity and fine tannins.

This wine is full bodied and full flavored with hearty winter notes of baked berries, cherry pie, kirsch, mulling spices, toast and spiced fruit preserves. This wine is from phylloxera-free vineyards with unirrigated grapes, giving it a pronounced personality. Fresh red and cooked cherries, spiced plums, and light balsamic notes characterize the aromas. The palate is medium to medium plus in body with macerated cherries and raspberries, plum molasses, and some vanilla and cinnamon. This wine has a level of minerality that reflecting its volcanic soil but is balanced with round tannins and a long finish.

This is light garnet in color with scents of mushrooms, red berries and orange zest notes. The palate has more strawberry, fresh red cherry and red cherry candy with nice structure and lively tannins that seems petillant. The palate has slight funk, dry earth and medium body with medium acidity.

Made in the traditional french keeving method to achieve a wild-fermented and naturally semi dry cider pet-nat cider. Tasting notes of Guava, overripe mango, bergamot, candied orange peel, black sweet tea tannins. 

Notes of clementine, grapefruit, peach and rosewater combine with white flowers on the nose. Despite being a little cloudy (it's unfiltered) the flavors are clean and precise - white tea, tangerine and orange blossom can be found on the palate. Medium body and dry with light tannins.
