A classic, dry version of Gewurztraminer with rose petals, lychee and other tropical notes, and candied ginger. The palate is complex, but not heavy with medium weight and a long finish. The palate delivers white pepper, rosewater, apricot and peaches and cream. This has great acidity which makes this a great value for this varietal.

Aromas are tropical with citrus zest and touches of melon and stone fruit.  The palate is round and lower acid with peach and nectarine flavors. Touches of honeysuckle, pear and fennel linger on the finish.

Not only is the bottle unusual for an Italian Vermentino, so is the wine inside. Loaded with pronounced tropical aromatics rather than citrus and mineral notes, the wine is rounded and dense with a soft mouthfeel. The fruit is exotic on a medium bodied frame. A palate full of juicy grapefruit, nectarine, lemon zest and a hint of Mediterranean herbs that lead to an intriguing saline and mineral finish.

Aromatic with pineapple, yellow apple, pear and tons of wet stone minerality. The wine just smells crunchy and clean. The wine presents appealing off-dry and concentrated fruit including quince paste, marzipan and baked pineapple cake. 

The aromatic nose has ripe peach nectar, passionfruit, grapefruit and gooseberry and a touch of tea rose. Lots of concentrated stone fruit on the palate is nicely supported by refreshing acidity and a touch of white tea tannin. There is lingering rosewater, and sun warmed apricots on the finish. Aromas of baked apple, light peach, citrus and crushed rocks. The palate is medium in weight with a round creamy texture, and flavors of golden apple, pears, citrus oil and lanolin. The acidity is medium and the finish long.

This wine has great intensity and density with lightly spiced oak influence but not oaky or toasty. The palate has golden apple, cream and ripe pear with nice richness.

Aromas of macchia, a blend of evergreen shrubs and herbs common to the Sardinian landscape, on the nose. The Costamolino is the quintessential Sardinian Vermentino with hints of pine and mint coupled with ripe stone fruit and sweet citrus. The palate is medium plus in body with the fragrance continuing -- honeysuckle, jasmine, tropical citrus, and candied orchard fruits are lovely and balanced. This is an incredibly complex, rich and aromatic white that smells like jasmine, marzipan, nectarine and peaches. It tastes like ripe oranges, orange zest, flint and starfruit. Rounded texture with enough acidity to balance leads to a silky finish.

On the nose tropical, melon rind, white grapes and fresh-cut grass. On the palate it is fresh and structured yet creamy but cut, with notes of lime blossom, key lime, melons and green pear with a medium finish. Great on its own or with food.

Lovely aromas include stone fruit, jasmine, and tropical citrus notes. Refreshing and dry on the palate with bright apricot, orange peel and rosewater. Medium-bodied with a slightly waxy texture.

Floral (light honeysuckle) with stone fruit (apricot) ; darker in color with a full-bodied aroma. The palate has well balanced acidity on a medium-bodied frame. Apricot, Golden Delicious apple, peach, and honeysuckle provide tons of flavor.

Hannes focused mainly on the Burgundy varieties: The Sauvignon is clearly perceptible in the nose; the Pinot Blanc gives the elegance to the wine and the Pinot Gris the glaze. This wine is fragrant as soon as the cork leaves the bottle! The aromas are beautifully integrated, with plum, bramble, small dark fruits, and dried herbs including oregano and sage. Tannins have softened with some age and are doing just what they should be, allowing the flavor elements to show off. Dark berries, plums, and herbal elements dance. Medium bodied with a longer finish.

This wine is structured with medium plus body, soft acidity and medium tannins with oak influence that is not overdone. The fruit is both reduced and concentrated blackberry, black cherry and plum with some dehydrated fig and raisin flavors. This is for people who like Amarone but at an affordable price.

This appassimento wine uses dried grapes to concentrate the flavors. It is soft and supple in texture with velvety tannins on a medium frame. Stewed black and red fruits are accompanied by light tobacco and spice and a touch of smoke. Notes of blackberry, black cherries, and dates follow through to spices and dried herbs on the finish.

An Italian wine from the Marche area with good flavor and texture, beautifully balanced by integrated acidity and tannins. It smells like spiced and reduced dark fruit with prune, raisin, dark cherries, blackberries and chocolate. The palate is characterful but serious with olives, earth, raspberry and savory herbs. The lingering black fruit mingles with spice and you finish this wine and it leaves behind a gorgeous texture and feel.

From the Producer: “This organic Chianti spends little time in oak, unlike many of its Tuscan siblings. This gives the Sangiovese grape the chance to express its pure red cherry and plum character and a delicately spiced finish. Smooth, ripe and fresh this will accompany a Pasta al Ragù just perfectly.”

This is an aromatically old world italian. This is classic rustic barn and earth but with some tart red fruit like cranberries and currants coming through. There is fresh red cherries, light floral notes of red roses and red raspberries. The palate matches its aromas with an almost orange zest note.  The tannins here are persistent, lingering and round. The acid is refreshing and balances nicely with the higher alcohol content. This wine could age an additional 20 years but it showing some complex notes already.  

Ripe red fruits, mulling spices, and underbrush open on the nose. This medium-bodied wine is complex with round tannins and integrated acidity. Black cherry, black caps, and herbed raspberry jam segue into light notes of underbrush and bramble on the finish.

This is such an appealing wine with aromas darker fruit than the last vintage with black fruits (currants, boysenberry, and blueberry) with a touch of florality spring from the nose of unique Mediterranean grape. The wine is medium weight with red and purple fruits, plums, blueberries and rose petals. It is fresh, unique, appealing, fragrant, food-friendly, soft and accessible. The tannins are light to medium weight with crisp acidity.

Spicy, fruity aromas of red cherry and currant with a bit of darker fruit. While fleshy and red-fruited, the palate offers the acidity and bitterness typical of many Italian reds as well as some pepper and figs.

Good richness in the glass with aromatics of dark berries, toast, and chocolate. The palate is concentrated but refined in quality and texture with classy oak use and moderate – albeit appropriately – grippy tannin structure. This wine is polished with plum fruit, smoky bacon, and vanilla notes lingering through the finish.

Complex old world aromas dominate the nose which touches of rose, sandalwood, leather and smoke all infused with small red fruits like pomegranate narils and red cherry or cherry compote. The palate is lovely with silky tannin structure with the complexity being more subtle than the nose suggested. There is more red cherry but not as ripe and presenting some savory notes of dusty earth and minerality.  This is worth the price and has invigorating fruit with thorough tannins throughout.

This red fruited Dolcetto is a classic, well-made example. Wild red berries, herbs and hints of orange combine with crisp acidity and moderate tannins to give a wine with balance that's a great partner at the table. The fruit is bright and fresh with a hint of cooked plums, licorice and light spice chiming in.

Cassis, dusty red fruit, cured meat, and old world spice round out the complex nose. In the glass the Montepulciano bursts with splendid tart red and black fruit. The wine is medium plus body with integrated grippy tannins.

Aromas are of red cherry, black cherry, plum, prune, rosemary and cinnamon. The palate gives complex flavors that include black cap raspberries and blackberries, along with cinnamon and cedar spice, Italian herbs, wood notes and a sweet smokiness. Rich, dark aromas of cooked cherries and forest underbrush on the nose. This fuller-bodied wine offers black currants and black cherry on the palate. The fruit is ripe to support it's richness and fine tannins with touches of minerality and dark chocolate on the finish.

Aromas of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, and light earth unfold from the glass. On the palate, fruit flavors of cherry, raspberry and red plum mingle with a light herbal note. The wine is medium-bodied, nicely ripe and slightly rounded, yet clean, pure and fresh. It’s particularly refreshing for summer sipping!

Fruity aromas of plums, raspberry and red cherry with some dried herbs. The palate is sleek with medium body, integrated acidity and pure fresh raspberry and plum flavor.

This is quite aromatic, offering sweet wood, dark fruit--blackberry, blueberry, spiced cherry, plum--and cedar, all nicely integrated, with each sniff providing something more and different. The palate is equally integrated and complex. The fine tannins and moderate acidity are lovely, supporting and melding with the fruit. The fruit itself is dark berries, patient and thorough, subtle and a real presence. This is a wine one wants always on the wine rack to be enjoyed again and again. This aromatic, aged wine offers delicious and complex aromas of ripe black cap raspberries, plums, cassis, dark chocolate, espresso, woodsiness and earth. The palate gives some tertiary flavors of balsamic, fall fruit compote, prunes, espresso, black pepper, tobacco, forest floor, black trumpets, worn leather, and pastry crust; dusty tannins provide structure.

The nose gives aromas of red and black cherry, baked raspberry pie, cranberry, meat, garrigue and smoke. It smells Italian! The palate is medium weight with strawberries, berry seeds, violets, mineral and camp fire. It has a softer structure than you might expect from Nebbiolo, with integrated acidity and tannins. A long, balsamic finish completes the package.

This is a tasty wine from Tuscany with aromas of cherry, old wood, potpourri, root beer and forest floor. The palate reminds one of strawberry leather, worn leather, bay leaf, and smoke. It has great texture with medium acidity, integrated tannins and a velvety finish.

This is a savory wine with structure and black fruit. There are tar-like earth aromas and floral notes with classic red cherry, raspberry and plum. The palate is not tart but has good cool-climate acidity; it is medium weight with medium-plus tannins. There is some minerality on the palate and is a classic example of cool climate yet ripe Vespolina.

This unique wine that is 100% local Piedirosso variety is ruby red in color color with purple reflections, that smell like violets, wild flowers, spices, black pepper and flint. This well integrated wine is juicy, balanced and elegant on the palate, with a savory finish earth, tobacco and inky. The fruit that develops is black cherry and cassis with singed spices. This wine is unique and staff favorite.

Deep ruby red color with purplish flashes. The bouquet on the nose is very intense, fruity and flowery, with typical aromas of red fruits, juniper berries, plum, blackberry, and tea leaves. The enjoyable aromas of mature fruits are also fully and intensely felt on the palate. The alcohol gives a nice warm feeling; the nice acidity and the smooth tannins makes this wine extremely pleasant to drink.

From the Winemaker: "Sabbie di Sutta Cerasuolo di Vittoria has a lively cherry-red color and an intense aroma of red fruit and floral notes. Its smooth, full and harmonious taste pairs very well with many traditional Sicilian recipes and the typical flavors of the Mediterranean cuisine. This red wine is a blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes grown on sandy soils in the Vittoria area, a corner of Sicily that smells like Africa, situated just a few miles from the southernmost tip of the Italian peninsula."

More bitter than Cappelletti and Contratto Bitter. Flavors are more in the "brown" range (woodsiness, pine resin, roots, bark, sassafras and savory notes). Mouthwateringly bitter.

Using a family recipe since 1897, Nonino Amaro is a careful infusion of alpine herbs, enriched today by the presence of UE grapes aged over 5 years.

Brown baking spices of cardamom and cloves, ginger, along with cola and sassafras. Sweet with an herby bitterness (wood and sage)

The nose is of cherry candy, orange, citrus and cinnamon. Lifted licorice and medicinal red cherry are sweet and viscous with a biting bitterness on the midpalate to the finish. This is dominated by red cherry with oranges and a long, bitter almond finish.

This digestif is very aromatic with alpine herbs but predominantly mint and spearmint. The palate is equally intense and mint driven with some dark fruits like date and fig represented with herbaceous qualities. 

On the nose, this is a combination of stewed jam, black pepper, medicinal notes, roots and bark. On the palate, it's a mix of sweet cherry and sassafras with twig/roots, black pepper, more earthiness and a light bitterness. Overall, it's less fruity than Aperol.

Tart lemon juice and zest on the nose with fresh and not sweet flavors on the palate. This is a lighter style and not cloying but pleasantly fresh.

This is a triple distilled Italian grain wheat. The nose has a little bit of spice like black pepper and the palate is round and smooth.

This alpine liquor is incredibly complex and contradictory. The aromatics deliver similar gin like notes with, coriander, mint, lemon, cilantro, sage and black pepper. When the palate hits the taster it is nothing like you expect, there is lychee, birch beer, marshmallow, forest floor, white pepper, and so much fresh green cues. This of things like fresh grass in the summer, parsley, roasted marshmallow and white pepper that are all very smooth and almost sweet.

Bright raspberry, blackberry, plum and red cherry notes, spices, gentian bitterness and hints of burdock, bergamot, blood orange, cinnamon and red licorice are well blended. There's a pleasant sweetness (hint of cherry cola) that's balanced by an amaro note. Good viscosity lends itself to light dilution.

This skin-contact Pinot Grigio is the color of a rosé and tastes somewhere between an orange wine and a dry rosé. It is clean and fresh with lively scents of strawberry, rose and apple. The palate is medium to full-bodied with more strawberry, along with nectarine, red currants, cherry and peach notes. It is at the same time creamy and juicy with slight salinity and tannin providing a framework to the wine. A very interesting and captivating wine.

Tangerine, orange oil and savory notes greet you, following with with baked and spiced apples, cantaloupe melon, Mandarin orange and light florality. Toasted walnut and clove flavors provide complexity in this medium weight wine which is overall, clean, bright, and zippy finishing with an herbal touch.
