Wet stone and citrus join ripe grapefruit, lemon-lime and starfruit aromas. These continue on the palate along with gooseberry, granny smith apple and lemon notes. The wine is nicely balanced with gentle acidity and a rounder finish.

Peach and apricot with minerality begin the aromas for this wine. It follows through with more complex melon, green apple and some dried herbs, like dill. Medium bodied, citrus focused with medium acidity and medium aromatics. This wine is high-toned but beautifully approachable Sancerre. 

Here's a wine from the Arbois (eastern France in the Jura region between Burgundy and Switzerland) that offers an enjoyable amount of oxidation and age. Medium weight and more, with some bruised apple, cooked quince, hay and dried herbs creating a wine with interest and complexity, especially with its lightly tannic texture. The finish turns slightly funky with an oxidative-cider-yeasty edge that stays in check. This is classic Arbois.

Aromas of jasmine and pears set an inviting tone. This white is medium weight with white peach, pear, jasmine and waxy notes that are bright and fresh. The acid is crisp and a pleasant bitterness provides lift. The finish is long with nice minerality and some salinity. 

Freshly grated lime zest greet the taster with pear, apple and wet stone minerality. The magic occurs on the palate with almost off-dry flavors of ripe peach, apricot, sundew melon, marzipan and yellow plum. The acidity is medium plus with a medium bodied frame that tastes riper than the aromas suggest.

Stone, honeydew melon, citrus and white pepper aromas lead to kiwi and citrus peel with touches of white pepper along with classic Finger Lakes minerality and more melon notes. Clean with moderate acidity and nice roundness, lemon-lime flavors persist on the finish.

From the producer: Pale yellow colour. The nose shows the strong limestone influence: mineral, stone driven, citrus fruits and some white fruits (peach) after some aeration. The wine fermented in a large recent oak cask (foudre) and was on full lees until bottling. The palate is quite strict, bone dry, with a racy sapid acidity that gives a juicy texture on the finish. The wine has a nice concentration, but because it is bone dry with a ripe acidity, it feels elegant and delicate.

Aromas of cherry, crushed raspberries, minerals and flowers, show good typicity for Pinot. The dry palate is elegant, with more cherry fruit, a bit of toast, tea leaves, smoke and meatiness. Smooth and medium-bodied, the wine has moderate acidity that complements rather than obscures the abundant cherry and black currant fruit.

Wine Spectator, 91 Points: A creamy viscosity complements the texture of this harmonious version. An accessible crowd-pleaser, with lightly juicy acidity and delicate flavors of chopped almond, baked pear, saline and citrus. Disgorged January 2019.
