From the Producer: Founded in 1982, Au Bon Climat (which means "a well-exposed vineyard") produces internationally-recognized Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc wine from grapes grown in California's Santa Barbara County.

Lovely aromatics of tart forest fruits like cranberry, currants, red raspberry. There is a touch of earth as well. The palate is clean and mineral driven with lifted acid and balanced with some black tea notes.

Aromas of cherry, crushed raspberries, minerals and flowers, show good typicity for Pinot. The dry palate is elegant, with more cherry fruit, a bit of toast, tea leaves, smoke and meatiness. Smooth and medium-bodied, the wine has moderate acidity that complements rather than obscures the abundant cherry and black currant fruit.

Red strawberries, raspberries and blackcaps are attractive on the nose. Secondary aromas of iron, earth, savory black tea and minerality also greet you. On the palate, this wine is medium weight with moderate tannins and classic cherry fruitiness. It clearly comes from a cooler climate and has light spices on a smooth and elegant frame.

Savory herbs and strawberry cooli with orange zest and brick dust. The fruit on the palate is slightly tart with raspberry and blood orange that balances some Nebbiolo like qualities such as forest floor, Asian five spice, bark and mountain herbs. This wine has a fineness surrounding it with a long finish and medium plus acidity. 

From the Producer: Barda is the local term for “eroded steep slope” Often perceived as the “village level” Pinot Noir at Chacra, Barda is sourced from the estate’s “youngest vines” planted in the 1990s. The vines are ungrafted, from an original massale selection on sandy calcareous soils presenting a more high toned aromatic component in the wine. Barda is fermented in equal parts concrete and French oak, 15% of which is new followed by an 11 month elévage. Unfined/unfiltered with minimal sulphur.

The aromas are dark and rich with black cherry, concentrated cassis and stewed black fruit with a mineral back bone and a hint of smoke. The palate is mineral and more tart red fruit with moderate acidity. Rich and plush, with concentrated cherry tart, plum pudding and dark currant flavors that are well-structured, showing cocoa powder and allspice accents on the open-textured finish. This wine offers aromas of red cherry, chalk and savory, wild scents. It is medium weight with cherry, plum, raspberry, chalk, herbs and forest floor. The tannins are fine to medium in texture.

The nose gives strawberry, cranberry and red cherry cordial with some earthy soil component. The flavor is of summer strawberries, fresh bright raspberries with balanced acidity and body.

Our notes: Aromas are of plum, black cherry, earth and truffle. This is medium weight with black cherry, raspberry and plum fruit that's ripe, not tart. It is fresh with mostly pure fruit and a touch of cooked as well. There are hints of orange, cinnamon and chalk. Tannins are nicely rounded.

A low intervention cooler climate pinot noir that is grown on clay soil without pesticides, this offers classic Pinot aromas of raspberry, strawberry and cherry with integrated minerality. Lighter in body and elegant with supple tannins, ripe red fruit and integrated acidity. Touches of spice, vanilla, rosewater, and bright cherry linger.

This lighter colored red has plenty of personality and flavor. On the nose, you’ll find red fruits (cranberry pomegranate, dries strawberries) and a touch of floral character. The palate continues with cherries, raspberries, along with a touch of herb and crushed stone notes. This wine is juicy and fresh on a medium-bodied frame making it an ideal summer red!

Classic Pinot Noir characteristics are present in this midweight red. Red and black cherry, plum, earth, truffle and tea combine on the palate to give just-right balance of fruit and umami flavors. Since the wine is in screw cap, it will continue to evolve after being open for 30 minutes, becoming a little richer and more concentrated. The acidity and tannins are well-wrapped into this wine, making it a pleasure to drink alone or with many foods.

A vibrant bouquet of red cherries with cooked or concentrated raspberries and garrigue. The palate is supple with more cherry, herb and an iron-like earthy minerality. This wine is super fresh, yet deep with tannins and vibrant lingering acidity.

Quite a perfumed pinot noir with cranberry, blood orange, cherry cordial, dusty earth and some herbs. The oak use is judicious making a drinkable wine with strawberries, plums and red currants that meet green peppercorns and sandalwood. This is more concentrated and continues to get deeper and darker as it breathes.

This Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara has a floral nose, with loads of raspberries and a touch of alcohol. The body is medium to medium plus, nicely ripe with a lot of density and depth. Rich with flavors of black cherries, blackberries, and light smoke; finishing with medium acidity and lingering fruit.

This elegantly perfumed Pinot Noir is savory with nice density of flavor and color with a layers of flavors. One will find dry earth, violets, spiced plums, mulling spices and ripe cranberry. The texture is medium in weight with fine tannins and a fresh finish.

The palate is midweight with plum and raspberry that is fresh and just-ripe joining with warm earth and faint baking spices. Acidity is in check and tannins are supple as typical for the variety. From the producer: Rich savoury notes meld with red berry and plum, spice and mineral notes. Supple with layers of interest and a wonderful seamless quality through the palate framed by juicy tannins. This wine is approachable now and can be expected cellar up to 7 years.

Aromas include watermelon, ripe strawberry and blood orange.  Flavors on the palate echo the aromas with more strawberry and refreshing acidity to balance.  Touches of wet stone, white cherry, and citrus linger on the longer finish. The pinot noir and kékfrankos parts were harvested intentionally with a low potential alcohol for the rosé wine. The juice of merlot and cabernet franc grapes was gained by the “saignée” method. The must was fermented on low temperature in stainless steel tanks.

Lighter in body, it shows bright red fruit notes of strawberry and cherry with an underlying hint of watermelon, leading to a lifted mid-palate and a bright, zippy finish.

A natural Rose with an herbal and lightly funky nose. The palate is more fruit forward and dense with dark red cherries, with some savory and earthy components.

This traditional sparkling half bottle is full of butter biscuit aromas with some membrillo on top. There are notes of blueberry and whipped cream with soft citrus and yellow apple notes. The palate has a bursting bead with white pepper and more blueberry, white flowers with a long mineral finish.

Concentrated aromas of apple, brioche, peaches, white raspberry, melon and poached pear that reminds one of a creamy apple tart with cream. The flavor is so creamy and good with apricot, butter cream, vanilla, with a soft mouse that prickles and lingers without being aggressive. There is some browned butter and membrillo jam on the finish.

This Cremant is very mineral and clean with a lovely, vibrant frothiness. The fruit is subtle with hints of blood orange and lemon confit, with notes of toasted hazelnut enhanced by a leesiness from aging 20 months in bottle.
