Aromas are predominantly red fruited–cherry, raspberry, plum and spice box. There’s some fresh fig as well as spiced sweet cherry. This is a seamlessly textured wine with fine tannins. It’s medium-plus in weight with raspberry and raspberry coulis along with bramble; juicy acidity keeps it balanced.

Les Hérétiques is a rustic wine, speaking strongly of its terroir. The nose offers spice, cedar, and black cherry fruit, and touches of iron/earth. The tannins are quite present but well-integrated with more black cherries, spice and a lingering meaty quality.

Aromas of mulberry, berry compote and savory raspberries are appealing. It is medium to full-bodied with cherries and plums, spice, kirsch, thyme and chocolate notes adding complexity. This wine is smooth and quaffable with a long, refreshing finish.

Aromas are complex, with smoke, raspberry compote, red currant candy, chocolate, and spice. The palate offers a variety of red berry fruit, lightly cooked so it releases juice. Black cherry and cassis are also present, along with toast, baking spice, and mineral notes. The wine is medium to full bodied with moderate acid and youthful tannins that will meld with age.

One of the leading domaines in Bandol, Domaine Tempier is, without a doubt, the most visible producer from the appellation in the U.S. marketplace today. I think this is well-deserved (and a good thing for Bandol), as the wines are at the top of the hierarchy in terms of quality. The estate has been in the Peyraud family for generations and has a long, storied history that’s beautifully documented in Kermit Lynch’s newsletters and book, Adventures on the Wine Route (an absolute must read for any wine lover). This wine has great appeal, attractive berry notes, fresh herbs/earth, pepper, and concentrated berries. The palate has some bramble and forest floor with cedar and red cherry. Rounded tannins provide structure to the medium-bodied, food friendly quaff.

Aromas of warm earth, black currant, and dark cherries invite you in to this Rhone classic. Fuller-bodied with refreshing acidity to balance on the palate. More ripe dark fruit notes include cooked berries and some savory warm earth flavors with touches of dark chocolate and smoke.

Wild red and black berries combine with light floral and bramble aromas of this rustic red. The body is medium-plus with black cherry pie notes, black olive, and subtle earthy character. Grippy tannins make this a great food companion.

A medium bouquet of red currants and cherries with cooked or concentrated raspberries and earth. The palate is sleek and supple with cherry, soil and plum. This wine is super fresh and yet deep with very fine and complex tannins and structure.

There are also hints of minerality and light toast joining with the ripe fruit. This full-bodied, flavorful red still offers "relief" and a sense of freshness which creates balance in the wine. It is texturally attractive and structurally balanced with medium acidity, well managed tannins and a long finish. 

This Tempranillo, Merlot, Garnacha blend is a serious wine, its black fruits (cherry and raspberry) bonding with graphite, iron, dark earth, and chocolate aromas. The palate is medium bodied; its concentration and complexity emerge with exposure to air. It finishes with a touch of forest floor and smoke framed by food-friendly tannins.

The color is translucent ruby. The nose is generous, with fresh cherry, raspberry and some spices. The palate is round, fresh, crunchy, with a supple and delectable substance, bursting with fruit. The deliciously naughty grip on the finish doesn't help matters: the fruit and freshness go up a notch, as does the gluttony.

Pretty aromas of red fruit and flowers, think of red currants, pomegranates, red cherries and violets. It has medium weight on the plate with medium acidity. The flavors are similar to the nose with pomegranate dominating with additional dried herbs, lavender and raspberry.

The nose and palate of this medium- to fuller-bodied wine are similar: Brandied fruit (blackberries, black cap raspberries, cherries), rose petal, grilled nuts, garrigue, and pepper. Medium in both acid and tannin, it is supple, fresh, and easy to drink.

The soft tannins, minerality, and juicy acidity make it so quaffable. You can pair it with Mediterranean flavors such as tomato-based dishes, bruschetta with herbed olives, lamb, or pizza. Or enjoy it with sausages, burgers (including veggie) or roasted vegetables.

Tobacco, anise, earth and garrigue all come through in this wine. Over indulge with the aromas of red currants, smoke, baking spice, raspberry and violets. This is medium plus in body with a full and long finish with some warming qualities and medium plus tannins. This wine is still young but clearly exhibits some age worthy qualities.

From the producer: The deep ruby color leads to aromas of roasted black cherry and pomegranate laced with juniper. Toasted peppercorn, a signature of Navarra Garnacha, comes through after a minutes in the glass, followed by dried thyme and cherry cola. The palate is fresh, filled with red fruit, but shows it’s serious side with an earthy mid-palate and noticeable grip on the finish. Luzador Los Andreses is fun and serious at the same time – ideally paired with fully flavored foods from the grill.

Lovely aromas include raspberry, cassis, and black caps with touches of violets, leather and spiced plum. The mid-weight palate features juicy red and black berries and fruit leather supported by light sandalwood and floral-violet notes. Additional flavors of white pepper and smoke are framed around the lingering black cherry notes of this wine. Tannins remain smooth and acidity fresh. An excellent value wine!

Volador is the first wine produced each vintage. An iconic wine with a mix between savory flavors and fruity aromas. The nose shows pomegranate, tart cherry, smoky salt and volcanic soil. The palate delivers the savory dried herbs, woodsy berries and wild mushrooms. The structure is medium with supple lingering tannins that remind the drinker of black tea, black cherry and licorice on the finish. Full, pleasant, persistent yet delicate and pure.

Exceedingly drinkable and a great value with elements of dried Bing cherry, dark cherry, and raspberry. The fruit is ripe and juicy with a touch of bramble. The texture of this wine is elegant, pretty, and supple on a medium bodied frame.

A complex Garnacha with aromas of plum, black cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate truffle and cracked black pepper. The palate is fresh, easy and fruit forward, featuring black plum, cassis and blueberry fruit. Structurally, it is medium plus in body with velvety tannins and a long, savory finish. This dry rosé is lightly floral with notes of dried lavender and strawberry on the nose. The palate offers bright lemon and nectarine with strawberry, raspberry and herbs rounding out the finish.

This wine smells floral, with rosewater and jasmine but exotic and fun fruit like watermelon and bubblegum. The palate is fresh with medium acidity and texture with crushed rock minerality, and candied red fruit. This is unlike many other roses we carry and continues to deliver silky floral, salty and juicy watermelon on the finish. This is a food friendly wine that can accompany a wide variety of flavors. Try it with roast chicken, smoked salmon, fresh vegetables with hummus, a summer tomato tart or a pasta salad with pesto.
