Fernão Pires and Arinto lead the way aromatically, offering notes of citrus, white nectarine, fennel and jasmine. Chardonnay provides subtle and creamy vanilla and toast. Medium weight and round in texture with perky acidity that gives the wine freshness. Jasmine and floral tones on the palate are braced by pink grapefruit, powered confection note on the lingering finish.

A medium bodied wine with some savory notes and wet stone, with not a lot of fruit aromatically. The palate delivers this in spades with nectarine, lemons, green apple and minerality. The texture is light, clean and refreshing with medium acidity and a balanced bead. From the producer: ALLO has a yellow and silvery-bright colour. In this blend, Alvarinho, full of tropical fruit and structure, contrasts with Loureiro, floral and delicate, resulting in a lively yet elegant REGION white wine. The moderately low alcohol content contributes to the wine’s balance.

The nose offers lime--both zest and juice-- as well as starfruit and a touch of slate. This wine has just the right amount of effervescence to support the green pear, green apple, and citrus on the palate. Very crisp and refreshing.

Clean aromas of wet stone and lemon pith that indicate a higher acid white wine. The flavors are pear, apple, lemon curd, nectarine, fresh herbs and a touch of florals. The prickle is pleasant with medium texture and medium plus acidity.

This vibrant Portuguese blend offers aromas of tropical and citrus fruits. The mid-weight palate gives a burst of white flowers, stone fruits and lemon, along with crisp minerality.

From the producer: “Very mineral and citrus, grapefruit, slightly smoky, vibrant acidity with a structure that promises good ageing in the bottle. The soul of this wine lies in the unique combination of the Fonte Cal, Síria, Verdelho and Gouveio native grape varieties, from vines planted in purely granite soils with quartz veins, in the Douro River’s hydrographical basin, at an average altitude of 700 meters above sea level."

This attractively packaged wine offers aromas of coffee, plums, and red cherries. The wine is well-balanced in the mouth, with red plum and cherry, fresh black currant and jam, and hints of black pepper and herbs. Medium in body and acidity, with fine tannins and a longer finish.

Earthy aromas of minerals/graphite, raspberry, spiced plum, and black tea are complex and inviting. Notes of espresso, brambly blackberry and cassis are joined by touches of black pepper on the palate. Both tannins and acidity are pronounced but integrated nicely with air. Medium-plus in body with a longer finish.

Aromas are big, smoky, and spicy with blackberry, dark chocolate, and a hint of licorice. The palate has a nice lift and acidity, with flavors that match the aromas, including the pepper and blackberry. Medium plus in body with a persistent finish. The wine spends a year in American and French oak, with a further four months in bottle.

This richer red offers blackberry, cocoa and subtle spice aromas.  The palate continues with ripe black fruits, sandalwood, coffee, clove, cocoa and a kiss of smoke. The fruit in this medium-plus bodied wine is concentrated, yet the tannins are supple.

Aromas of dark and red cherry with a touch of smoke, additional charming aromas of macerated black and red currants. The flavors echo the aromas with more chocolate and a touch of bark. The palate has nice round texture with soft but working tannins. The acidity is integrated with a velvety and polished finish.

Both aromas and flavors are smoky. The nose offers stewed red fruit (raspberry), black fruit (black raspberry and cherry), and cured meat. The attack is juicy, with black fruits, meatiness, spices, black pepper and a slightly rustic note. Tannins are fairly fine, the body is medium to more, and the finish is long.

Brambly fruit like cassis, blackberry, and black cherry scents with white pepper. This wine is lithe with toothy tannins and velvet texture. The flavors have nice concentration with good acidic lift. The finish is very dry and a little hot with iron and minerality on the end.

You'll find nectarine, strawberry candy and red pear flavors in this Vinho Verde rosé. It has a refreshing prickle with a whiff of powdered sugar/talc running through it (but don't worry, it's totally dry!)
