Tasting Notes

On the nose, this wine offers floral aromas along with anise and cardamom. Captivating flavors of white peach, lime, flowers, beeswax and anise can be found on the palate. This white is medium-plus in body with a rounded texture and good interest.

Since 1842, the Niepoort family has been producing wine in the Douro Valley. They focus on port wines, but also collaborate with other producers in Portugal to create a series of wines that they call "Niepoort Projectos" - of which, Dócil is a project from Vinho Verde.

Loureiro is a grape variety that is planted widely in the Vinho Verde region of Portugal. Its name translates to "laurel" or "bay" and the aroma of Loureiro wines is said to resemble that of laurel flowers.

This wine originates from vines planted in granite soil along the Lima Valley (said to be the origin site of Loureiro), and was fermented and aged in stainless steel.
