This is a wine which shows both density and sharp precision. The flavors range from lemon and lemon peel to flower blossoms, nectarine, white peach, quince and apricot. There is zingy tartness as well as round and chewy elements in this complex Riesling. Some lightly singed fruit peel, minerality and stone combines with lime as well. Quality farming and winemaking is evident.

This is a complex and layered wine aromatically and texturally. Glazed lemons and orange slices with some apricot aromatically. The texture has lovely acidity and medium plus body. The fruit flavors are rich but perfectly balanced and delivering apricot, candied pear, guava and lychee.

One of the leading domaines in Bandol, Domaine Tempier is, without a doubt, the most visible producer from the appellation in the U.S. marketplace today. I think this is well-deserved (and a good thing for Bandol), as the wines are at the top of the hierarchy in terms of quality. The estate has been in the Peyraud family for generations and has a long, storied history that’s beautifully documented in Kermit Lynch’s newsletters and book, Adventures on the Wine Route (an absolute must read for any wine lover). This has a gorgeous nose with sensual earth, red cherry and raspberry aromas. The wine is open and accessible now. This medium weight wine is elegant, delicate and graceful, with the red fruits repeating from the nose and ending in a long, mineral finish.

An aromatic wine with lots of complexity, floral with pressed roses, spiced plum, licorice and blackberry. The palate shows come baking spice notes such as clove, licorice, and black pepper. More toast and macerated red cherries to finish. It is medium plus and drinking well now.  This is a classic, example of Chateauneuf. 

This wine begins with dark, steeped berries encircling fireplace and pine forest aromas. in the mouth, it is creamy and full-flavored, exhibiting wild black currant and dark chocolate flavors mixed with sweet tobacco and black cherry candy. The wine envelops your whole mouth and glides down the throat, leaving a hint of smoke and mocha. First rate and drinking beautifully now, but will age through 2028.

Deep and brooding with black fruit, tobacco and dried herb notes on the nose. The palate continues with these--black currants and bittersweet chocolate stand out and are structured with juicy acidity and open-knit tannins. This wine is fleshy and silky, especially given some air. It's just right on every note, mixing savory with ripe. The more you think about it, the more you realize what a pleasure it is to drink this wine.

A wine of true finesse and elegance. Aromas of berry, flowers and chalk- along with notes of nuts, cream, yeast- make way for a complex palate with a cool, minerally finish.

Medium plus aromatics of brioche, lemon curd, fennel or anise, light hay notes with lees, oatmeal and concentrated cider. The palate is dry with a soft bead, with baked lemon pastry and green apple. Some gooseberry notes with pinpoint bubbles on the finish.

This dessert wine gives luscious, sweet flavors such as candied peaches, honey, caramelized apples, tarte tatin and orange peel, along with attractive white flower and sage notes. It is not heavy, despite its ripeness and is immensely tasty!

This 10-year cognac is not in the style of charred barrels and boozy alcohol. Rather it is gentle, refined, restrained, pure, quaint and wine-like. The flavors are lively, fresh and youthful with hints of orange, salt, stone, laurel and sugar-crusted cookies.

This packs a punch but is soft and gentle at the same time, offering red berry and vanilla malt aromas and a palate of melted marshmallow, coconut shavings, and baked apple. Like all good whiskeys, it saves the best for last, with a long, creamy finish of chocolate and spice.—David Fleming (Whiskey Advocate)
