This wine is very aromatic with rosewater, jasmine, some talc/mineral notes, and stone fruits, along with lime and lime blossom.  The palate offers more vibrant citrus (lime, grapefruit) and lingering apricot, white tea and grape notes. If you love aromatic wines with floral notes, this balanced, mouthwatering white is your jam. It's delicious and not-over-the-top for Torrontes!

We are impressed with box chardonnay because it is crisp, clean and has a lot of fresh flavors like lemon zest, yellow apple and honeydew melon. It is is medium acidity and medium bodied with a finish of pear and minerality.

Red strawberries, raspberries and blackcaps are attractive on the nose. Secondary aromas of iron, earth, savory black tea and minerality also greet you. On the palate, this wine is medium weight with moderate tannins and classic cherry fruitiness. It clearly comes from a cooler climate and has light spices on a smooth and elegant frame.

From the Producer: Barda is the local term for “eroded steep slope” Often perceived as the “village level” Pinot Noir at Chacra, Barda is sourced from the estate’s “youngest vines” planted in the 1990s. The vines are ungrafted, from an original massale selection on sandy calcareous soils presenting a more high toned aromatic component in the wine. Barda is fermented in equal parts concrete and French oak, 15% of which is new followed by an 11 month elévage. Unfined/unfiltered with minimal sulphur.

Dark chocolate mingle with dark berries and aromas of toasted oak. The tannins are round and soft with the rustic wood quality delivering cigar box and forest floor with black plum, juicy blueberry and chocolate.

High-toned black cherry and slightly earthy aromas on the nose. The wine shows a perfect combination of fresh red fruit such as black cherries, raspberries and blackberries. Spice touches and licorice hints contribute complexity. The ageing in French oak integrates subtle vanilla and caramel nuances with dens lingering black berry on the finish.

Aromas of dark fruits, light earth and nutmeg introduce this wine. It is medium plus in body with blackberry, black raspberry, baking spice, dark earth and tobacco. Although it offers density, the tannins and acid are well integrated, giving a soft and silky texture. It’s the perfect party quaffer or pair with steak, beef stew, or roasted lamb shanks, liberally involving charring, grilling or smoking. You can also enjoy this South American red with stuffed peppers, mushrooms, beans and Mexican dishes.
