Fresh aromas of roasted pear lead to a more than medium weight palate. The pear is still here along with baked apple. The wine is joined by touches of butterscotch and toast (despite the wine's lack of oak contact). This is a fresh wine, clean, with lifted acidity, balanced, tasty, and well made.

Lighter aromas include lemon peel and Asian pear. Medium-weight with lots of lemon on the palate.  Clean and refreshing with good concentration, more pear, and yellow apple flavors.

Very aromatic, offering rosewater and stone fruits. The perfume continues on the palate with floral and orchard notes followed by a pleasant bitterness. Jasmine and rose combine with grapefruit (complete with its pith), peach and apricot. The mouthfeel is round and the acidity is fresh.

We are impressed with box chardonnay because it is crisp, clean and has a lot of fresh flavors like lemon zest, yellow apple and honeydew melon. It is is medium acidity and medium bodied with a finish of pear and minerality.

Medium aromatics with notes of mixed berries and crushed rocks. The palate is nicely integrated with a combination of red, purple, and black fruits with harmonious acidity and medium tannins. It is elegant reflecting the cooler high altitude site, with ripe (but not overripe) bing cherries, plums and blackberries.

Red strawberries and ripe fruits are attractive on the nose. On the palate, this wine is medium weight with classic cherry fruitiness, vanilla, and light spices on a smooth and elegant frame

Aromas of licorice and leather mix with wild berries, spice, and forest floor to introduce this wine. The palate is ripe with dark plum and black cherry flavors alongside crushed rocks and chocolate. It is medium plus in body with medium acidity and velvety tannins.

This wine smells of black cherry, mulberry and dark soil. The palate is round on its entry and then shows some fine and polished tannins. The palate has flavors of ripe black cherry, coffee, and bark. It is medium to plus in body with fine tannins.

Aromatics of macerated blackberries, cocoa, and a hint of licorice. This is very smoothly textured, ripe and spicy with dark berries, plum, black pepper, dark chocolate, integrated tannins and an appealing meatiness. It is fuller bodied and warming.

The aromas and flavors of this wine are abundant and complex. Pleasurable black fruits and notes of baking spice and chocolate accompany light smoke. Bold with round, ripe, suave tannins and juicy acidity, this is medium bodied but stays lip smacking with its juiciness. Secondary flavors of licorice, black cherry, chocolate, lead, blueberry and a touch of black pepper. The Zorzal Malbec is well-integrated and extremely enjoyable.

Aromas of red and black cherry, spice and cocoa. On the palate notes of blackberries, black pepper, cherry and plums are supported by the fine tannins. This medium-plus body wine is elegant with a silky texture. 

Dark fruit but still fresh and juicy this assumed malbec dominated wine is balanced and smooth. An enticing mix of graphite, concentrated blueberry compote, mild smoke and tobacco with some white pepper and cassis.  Floral and spice aromas pull you in and fold over to the palate, adding juicy boysenberry and blueberry pastry notes at the core. The flavors fan out from a push of fresh acidity, with savory olive and five-spice details weaving in, ending with bold tannins and nice length. Rich dark berry aromas lead to currants and black cherries on the palate. Medium-plus in body with nice concentration and structure. Bittersweet chocolate notes linger on the finish.

Aromas of dark fruits, especially black currants, join with dark chocolate and light smoke on the nose. On the palate, this well-balanced wine combines black currants with baking spice, chocolate, toast, coffee, violet and vanilla notes. This stays fresh with its juicy acidity and the tannins are quite velvety. A classic, well-made example.
