One of the leading domaines in Bandol, Domaine Tempier is, without a doubt, the most visible producer from the appellation in the U.S. marketplace today. I think this is well-deserved (and a good thing for Bandol), as the wines are at the top of the hierarchy in terms of quality. The estate has been in the Peyraud family for generations and has a long, storied history that’s beautifully documented in Kermit Lynch’s newsletters and book, Adventures on the Wine Route (an absolute must read for any wine lover). Fragrant notes of black caps and violets on the nose. The palate has nice richness and concentration with macerated raspberry and cherry flavors. The wine is savory and intense with baking spice and anise lingering on the longer finish.

An earthy, creamy full-bodied Tempranillo, Mourvedre, Nebbiolo & Grenache blend has a distinct, slightly salty aftertaste, with a dark berries finish. Its elegant and delicate tannins and pleasant acidity make this a wine accessible to all palates. It has a nicely balanced nose, is smooth and delicious with hints of oak and spices, chocolate and pepper, leather and sea salt.

Aromatic, sweet and fruity with strawberry preserves, grapes, and minerality. The texture is balanced and restrained for Rasteau with potpourri, minerality and red cherries.  This wine’s restraint and supple tannins make it an ideal food partner.

On the nose, this red blend reveals attractive raspberry compote and stewed fruit, along with touches of bramble. The medium-bodied palate is composed of beautiful dark fruit and mineral notes with balanced acidity and silky tannins. It finishes with luscious plum flavors.

This dry rosé is perfectly balanced, soft, and thirst quenching. Fresh red berries, especially strawberry, a touch of floral character and peach are well-balanced by fresh acid and minerality on the palate. The wine is dry with strawberries lingering on the finish.

Savory aromas of bark and toast with black and red cherry, red currant and some wild strawberry introduce this wine. The bright mouthfeel is vibrant with good intensity and complexity. The flavors echo the nose with additional cranberry, red currants and a long mineral finish.

Aromas of watermelon and a touch of marzipan on the nose; this is super refreshing with vibrant acidity balancing notes of ripe peach, strawberry, and a touch of starfruit on the finish.
