The nose offers black cherry and blueberry fruit, black olive, spice and touches of iron/earth. Dark fruit continues on the palate with present, but well-integrated tannins, touches of bittersweet chocolate and a juicy black cherry linger on the finish.

Old world aromas of barn, worn leather, freshly cut hay with dark forest fruits, like plum, black cherry and blackberry. The palate offers flavors of spiced dark fruit, cedar, and cocoa, around fine tannins, medium plus acidity and a rounded finish.

One of the leading domaines in Bandol, Domaine Tempier is, without a doubt, the most visible producer from the appellation in the U.S. marketplace today. I think this is well-deserved (and a good thing for Bandol), as the wines are at the top of the hierarchy in terms of quality. This is a very aromatic wine, with fresh dark cherries and plums and a touch of pepper and bark. In the mouth, this is juicy, fruity (raspberries, figs, plums), and well structured by round tannins. It is complex, with a touch of savory dried herbs and woodsy notes, hints of coffee and chocolate, and a great mouthfeel. It’s definitely food-oriented, though it is also pleasurable alone.

"A rich purple in the glass. The complex nose features nuanced aromas ranging from blackberry to blueberry and currant with hints of cedar and spice. In the mouth, it’s juicy with a grippy texture and delicate, concentrated but relaxed tannins before the lengthy finish. Aromatic, sweet and fruity with strawberry preserves, grapes, and minerality. The texture is balanced and restrained for Rasteau with potpourri, minerality and red cherries.  This wine’s restraint and supple tannins make it an ideal food partner.

Ripe raspberries and strawberries greet you on the nose with dark, ripe fruit and a savory hint following. The strawberries continue on the palate, fresh and rich, supported by silky, soft tannins and a little white pepper finish. Earth and barn notes add complexity to this medium plus weighted wine.

Aromatic stovetop fruits with baking spices and barn notes lead to a medium plus bodied palate with notes of blueberry compote, dark chocolate, Moroccan spices and cherry preserves. The texture is velvety, with finely integrated acidity and a long, warming finish. This wine is dry, but ripe, sleek, yet rich. Enjoy on its own or with red meats, tomato sauce or Mediterranean fare.

This wine smells floral with rosewater and jasmine aromas along with exotic and fun fruit like watermelon and bubblegum. The medium-bodied palate is juicy with candied red fruit, crushed rock, minerality, salinity and a silky finish.
