This appassimento wine uses dried grapes to concentrate the flavors. It is soft and supple in texture with velvety tannins on a medium frame. Stewed black and red fruits are accompanied by light tobacco and spice and a touch of smoke. Notes of blackberry, black cherries, and dates follow through to spices and dried herbs on the finish.

Its smooth, full and harmonious taste pairs very well with many traditional Sicilian recipes and the typical flavors of the Mediterranean cuisine. This red wine is a blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes grown on sandy soils in the Vittoria area, a corner of Sicily that smells like Africa, situated just a few miles from the southernmost tip of the Italian peninsula."
