Attractive red jam fruits are still dry in this Zinfandel-based wine which has nice purity and finesse, as well as velvety tannins. It has medium acidity or even more, giving it good balance. There's plenty of flavor here, including a little brambly note.

From the Producer This year’s rendition is 76% Zinfandel, 11% Carignan, 5% Petite Sirah, 4% Grenache and 3% Cinsault, with the remainder being assorted mixed varieties such as Mourvèdre, Negrette and more. Though a blend of over a dozen ranches, the majority comes from Teldeschi, Evanghelho, Katushas, Nervo, Sodini, Beeson, Bedrock, Old Hill, and Papera. We are extremely pleased with the resulting wine—one that shows off freshness, wonderful fruit tones, spice, and pepper laden perfume built around a core of flat-out delicious fruit character. This one should be a great crowd-pleaser.

Ripe black and red fruit including plum and raspberry on the palate. Tannins are medium plus but well integrated, showing aging potential. Fruit, bramble, and spice notes mingle to create a well-balanced wine.

Beautiful nose with such ripe and fruity notes of dark berries, sweeter blueberry compote and cocoa. The bit of Zinfandel adds to the flavors with smoke on the finish, black pepper and some cigar. This wine is smooth with soft tannins and balanced acidity.

This is a great-value, Italian version of Zinfandel. The nose is lifted with floral aromas balancing the dark berries. On the palate, the fruit remains dark and rich with smoke, toast and cherry cola notes. Well balanced and rounded in texture, this is a fun party or camp fire wine!

Complex mixed berry aromas with spice: blackberry, damson plum, Bing cherry are intense and concentrated but quite fresh. There’s a touch of allspice and white pepper as well. The flavors continue the aromatic profile, both fruity and spicy.  This delicious wine is nicely ripe, yet restrained: it has fruit (blackberry, raspberry), spice and structuring elements; all well balanced. It is medium-plus in body with a very long finish.
