This wine has medium aromatics but complex ones; delivering blackberry, cocoa, cassis, vanilla and coffee. The palate is elegant and full bodied with milky coffee, bramble fruit and graphite. The acidity is medium plus with softer tannin structure, the finish is long! A delicious wine and well made, with ending flavors of espresso and milk chocolate.
Clos du Val is french for "small vineyard estate of a small valley". The winery was founded in 1977 in Stags Leap District. It remains family owned to this day with two estate vineyards.
