Tasting Notes

This is a powerful style of Bordeaux that also retains elegance and finesse. On the palate you will find rich ripe plum, blackcurrant, ripe cherries, and showcasing subtle cedar notes, with chalky tannin and good length. This red will pair nicely with dishes such as rack of lamb, duck breast, venison, meatloaf, mushroom dishes, wild rice stuffing or roasted winter squash.

Decanter Magazine - “Poised, textured and rich, but with ample fresh charm. Lush cherry, dark plum and herbal leafy nuances on the long palate, underpinned by fine-grained tannins. An excellent wine.”

WINE INFORMATION

Entre-deux-Mers is an appellation of the Bordeaux wine region of south west France. It translates literally as "between two seas", although the seas in question are in fact rivers – the Garonne and Dordogne, which respectively form the area's southwestern and northern boundaries.

Château Moulin is located in St Antoine du Queyre in the commune of Entre-Deux-Mers, just outside of the city of Bordeaux. They grow mostly Merlot, but have small planting of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard site is 30 years old and is planted on limestone-clay soil, which creates ideal conditions for growing merlot. The winery is headed by Frederic Petit, a young farmer making modern and approachable wines.
