Tasting Notes
The nose provides a complex interplay of dark, steeped berries, black pepper, clove, and warming spices. This is medium-plus in body and very softly textured with well-integrated tannins. Plums, mulberries, and blackberries combine with pleasing baking spices and light minerality.

Napa Valley AVA is an American Viticultural Area located in Napa County, California.  Considered one of the top wine regions in the United States, this new world region has a wine history dating back to the 19th century. Today the AVA contains 15 sub-appellations with AVA status. While some winemakers produce wines from the specific AVAs within the valley, the majority choose to blend their wines using a mix of wine grapes grown on the valley floor and the surrounding hillsides.

The Napa Valley floor is flanked by the Mayacamas Mountain Range on the western and northern sides and the Vaca Mountains on the eastern side.  Several smaller valleys also exist within these two ranges. The Mediterranean climate renders the region ideal for growing a wide range of grape varietals.  The soils in the southern end of the valley consist mainly of sediments deposited by earlier advances and retreats of San Pablo Bay while the soils at the northern end of the valley contain a larger volume of volcanic lava and ash.  The 2007 growing season in Napa Valley received an early start and the mid-summer weather was mild.  The end of the season was marked by some heavy rainfall and a brief heat wave.  Thankfully hearty grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon received very little damage and the few warm days at harvest time resulted in excellent sugar development.  This is considered an excellent vintage characterized by small, intensely flavored berries.

BonAnno (which means “good year” in Italian) was started winemaker Matt BonAnno and his wife in 2004 with the vision of creating a top quality Napa Cab for today's wine enthusiasts. They source grapes and wine from artisan growers to get the highest quality at the best price. Then carefully handcraft each bottle at one of Napa's top cab houses to create the unique BonAnno style that is consistently fruit driven, juicy and well structured, enjoyable upon release.
