Aromas of smoke and spice, black olive and black cherry. The palate has a lovely texture deriving from fine tannins. Grapes, blackberries, and light spice as well as a hint of tapenade, make up the flavors.

This medium-bodied, Old World red is a good Chianti alternative. It gives flavors of mixed cherry fruit, cedar, leather and bark and is structured with firm acidity and moderate tannins.

This wine smells big right from the get-go. Fleshy, baked plum and black cherry match up with baking spices, especially cinnamon and clove, and a whiff of smoke.
