This wine begins with aromas of earth, brown spice, and exhuberant fruit (cherries galore). On the palate, it is medium bodied with plums and mixed cherries, touches of barn, integrated acidity and ultra-soft tannins, ending with a silky finish. This is fine, satisfying and versatile with food!
This comes from Valdeorras in northwestern Spain. The vineyard is grey slate intermixed with decomposed quartz and alluvial soils. Vines are old and dry farmed organically in Gobelet method, completely worked by hand. They are at 1800-2100 feet above sea level in Mediterraean climate with Atlantic influences.
Indigenous yeast, basket press and used French oak barrels are the cellar regime, finishing without clarification. Only 275 cases are made.
