This is a crisp and minerally white, perfectly cleansing when eating shellfish and light seafood. It gives flavors of pear flesh, vanilla, chalk, lemon oil and wet stone on the medium weight palate. The wine is juicy, refreshing and clean with some leesy notes providing texture that keeps it from being sharp.
Domaine du Haut Bourg, located in the heart of the Muscadet appellation, was built by four generations of winegrowers. The first vine was planted in 1945 and today brothers Hervé and Nicolas Choblet run their 40-hectare estate vineyard together. These particular vines are densely planted and are over 60 years old. Chemical and mechanical intervention is avoided. The wine is aged on its lees in stainless steel tanks.
