This is a ripe and oaky style with rounded tannins and medium plus body. The aromas are reminiscent of port; you’ll find notes of dark, concentrated fruit, toast and cloves. The palate offers plum, blueberry and black currants with vanilla and smoke giving hints of the oak. Pair this wine with dishes such as pepper crusted steaks, cheeseburgers, ribs dressed in barbeque sauce, stuffed portobello mushrooms, roasted eggplant baba ganoush, or black beans with cinnamon.
