WINE INFORMATION
Dan Fitzgerald and John Harvey, Winemakers for Brack Mountain Wine Company, craft multiple labels (Bench, L’Oliveto, Cyprus, Daniel) from esteemed vineyard sites in Sonoma County using old world methods. This wine is sourced from two exceptional Russian River Valley vineyards: Hurst Vineyard in the Sebastopol Hills and Cousins Vineyard in central Russian River Valley. These vineyards are known for their excellent soil, sun exposure, cooling morning fog and fresh nights, offering ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir. Sustainable farming practices are used and grapes are harvested by hand.
Two-thirds of the grapes are destemmed without crushing and one-third is left as whole grape bunches. After a five day cold soak, fermentation begins. The wines are aged in French oak barrels (30% new) for 11 months in which time they undergo a spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
