Classic Bordeaux with structure, mineral and iron notes alongside ripe tannins. This is softened by berry compote, suede, light smoke and earthiness, black currants and wild black raspberries. This wine is medium bodied with medium acidity and a longer finish.
WINE INFORMATION
This twenty hectare property is incredibly well located with a southwest exposure, plenty of sunshine and good drainage. Owned by two American Bordeaux lovers since 1986, it has been vastly improved in both vineyard and cellar, while not disturbing some of the hundred-year old vines. The wines are now exported to twenty different countries though France is still the primary market.
La Sacristie is the second label of the chateau and is made from the younger vines. Like most right bank wines, the predominant grape is Merlot, so while quintessentially French in style and extremely food friendly, it is approachable without food. Grapes are hand harvested, double sorted, macerated with pump overs, fermented in stainless steel, and then malolactic fermentation and aging take place in French oak barrels.
