Tasting Notes

Charles & Charles is a collaboration founded in 2008 between Food & Wine Magazine 2009 Winemaker of the year, Charles Smith (K Vintners, Charles Smith Wines) and Charles Bieler (Bieler Père et Fils). The label is an abstract play on the American Flag done by the well-loved and historic Nashville, TN poster shop, Hatch Show Print.

Grapes come from a high altitude vineyard in the Columbia Valley. To ensure minimal color or tannin the fruit is harvested at night or in the early morning. About 50% of the grapes are fermented with indigenous yeast.

TASTING NOTES

The aromas lead with notes of wild raspberry and cherry, giving in to bright citrus, herbs of Provence and nectarine. The aromas translate onto flavors on the palate with a round mouthfeel. This is a delicate, yet flavorful rosé.

FOOD PAIRING

This rosé is easily enjoyed as a summer sipper but is flexible and bold enough to marry with a wide range of fare, from salads to seafood to backyard barbecue! Enjoy with chicken (or veggie chicken patties), quiche, fried rice, tapas, sushi or Mexican food.
