Tasting Notes

Perfumed notes of rose petal, cinnamon, clove, strawberry jam, cherry and vanilla. On the palate this medium-bodied wine is silky and elegant with dark cherries, raspberries, blackberries, slight vanilla and a hint of stone fruit.

WINE INFORMATION

Carlton Cellars, located in Carlton, Oregon, is a project of husband and wife team Dave Grooters and Robin Russell. Grooters, who befriended many of Oregon’s pioneer winemakers during the 1980s spent the 1990’s working in various positions at several of their most highly-regarded cellars. Grooters and Russell, who met in the mid-1990s, formed Carlton Cellars and celebrated their first vintage together in 2001. In 2007 they opened their own winery and tasting room. Together, they produce small batches of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Gris. The Seven Devils Pinot is the duo’s entry-level pinot, meant to be enjoyed fresh and young. The wine spends 10 months in select 2-4 year old French oak.
