This wine has the aromas of a warm, sunny place: ripe red fruit, candy apples, and balsamic notes.  The palate, too, is ripe, but not overly so.  The fruit here is also big and largely red (cherry dominated), both in its fresh form and as juicy fruit leather.  There is a just-right acidity that balances the fruit.  A touch of tapenade gives a light savory note.  Medium tannins with a slight grit also contribute to the wine’s balance.  Medium-plus in body with a long finish.
