Matured for a full decade ex-Brandy casks, 6th generation Master Distiller Kazunori Ohishi is able to coax a perfect, harmonious marriage between the famed local aromatic rice grains used in this whisky and the floral, vinous character from the casks.
Maple syrup, brown sugar and grilled peach on the nose is followed by creme brulee, baked apple with light cinnamon on the palate. This slightly warming whiskey has a fine texture which is delicate compared to Scotch.
