Tasting Notes

Crisp aromas of green melon, light floral notes and lime blossom. The wine has a really pretty texture and nice density, highlighted by fresh honeydew melon and papaya fruit flavors. There is some persistent rosemary and sage underneath the fruit flavor. It is medium plus in body and balanced with medium acidity.

WINE INFORMATION

The winery was founded in 1979 by Augusto and Domenico Cantele alongside their father Giovanni Battista Cantele. Giovanni was a wine merchant who brought his wife Teresa Manara to Puglia on a business trip, she fell in love with immediately and they moved the entire family from the North to Puglia in the South.

The winery owns 50 hectares of vineyards and manages another 150 hectares. Today, Teresa Manara and Giovanni Battista Cantele’s grandchildren run the winery together: Augusto’s children, Gianni and Paolo; and Domenico’s children, Umberto and Luisa.

The grapes are harvested at night during cooler temperatures. Afterwards the grapes are destemmed, not pressed, and cooled to 8°C. They remain at this temperature for a few hours to increase the extraction of primary aromas. The grapes are softly pressed and then racked for natural fining. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel.
