Tasting Notes

Slightly less than medium weight in body with pomegranate, plum, red and black cherry, along with light earth notes. Touches of pepper spice and the slightest hint of carbonic maceration can be found in this cool vintage Nouveau. Plum fruit and raspberry continue to the juicy finish.

Domaine du Clos du Fief is run by Michel Tete and his son Sylvain. This fourth generation estate is located in Julienas and Jullie, at the far northwest sector of Beaujolais. The history of these great villages dates back more than 2000 years and traces its names to Julius Caesar. Vines are 40-50 years old and come from high-altitude, steep slopes, farmed organicially with low yields. Classic winemaking, aged in tank.
