Grapes for this wine were grown on schist soils on the slopes of the Le Plomb, Besset, La Viallière and Neve vineyards in Côte Rôtie. This Côte-Rôtie always shows stunning aromatics, breed and class.
Château de Saint Cosme sits on the site of a Gallo-Roman villa and has been in existence since 1416. Winemaker Louis Barruol took over from his father in 1993 and began a negociant arm of the business in 1997. The property has been in the family since 1490 with 14 generations of vignerons tending the historic site.
