La Posta Armando Bonarda 2020

Tasting Notes

Interesting aromas of purple fruits, plums & cherries, with brambly, minerally notes. The palate is dry & youthful with crunchy red fruits, black raspberries, leather and distinctive notes of red licorice as well as bittersweet cocoa powder. This wine can be drunk now or enjoy over the next 3 years.

WINE INFORMATION

La Posta translates to “the tavern,” where the farmers meet to discuss their soils, their vines, their quest for superior flavors, and their passions for life. In collaboration with wine pioneer Laura Catena and esteemed winemaker Luis Reginato, the hard work and skill of the people behind the wines are expressed in La Posta. Each different La Posta wine is made by a different small producer: single varietal wines made by one grower from a single vineyard.

All La Posta wines are certified sustainable through Bodegas de Argentina.

Winemaker Estela Armando’s family has been growing grapes in the Mendoza region since 1887. Her great-grandfather, who himself relocated from Piedmont, Italy crafted the family’s first vintage. In 1963 her grandfather planted the Bonarda vineyard from where this bottle was sourced. The average vine age is 55 years old .

The wine is aged in 100% French barrels (30% of the wine aged for 10 months in 2nd and 3rd use barrels); 500 cases imported.
