Lovely aromas of fresh red cherry, raspberry, and toasty oak. Red fruit, especially cherry, dominates the palate, with a touch of cocoa and mocha with more blueberry and dark raspberry. The fruit is deftly balanced by moderate earth notes. Round more earthier palate with more cinnamon and clove than the previous vintage.  Fresh, lively, lifted, and delicious!

The Russian River Valley is located in northern Sonoma County west of Healdsburg. It runs through a narrow gorge in the Alexander Valley, flowing south and then west to reach the Pacific Ocean. The Russian River Valley AVA took off in the 1970s, when new winery owners in the region began bottling their locally grown grapes under the Sonoma County label. It is a cool, foggy area with significant diurnal temperature differences. It is known primarily for the production of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, though some hillside sites produce beautiful Zinfandel.

Trevor Sheehan is the proprietor and vintner of Precision Wine Company, which produces nine brands of wine from prestigious AVAs in California. He has worked in both Burgundy and Bordeaux, paying particular attention to where and how grapes grow. He has also worked for several years in California and has access to great vineyard material. His first foray into bottling California wine was 10 years ago, when he was able to acquire eight barrels of Chardonnay from the famed Beckstoffer Vineyard, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain, both in Napa.

Grapes for this wine come from Sonoma. The fruit ferments in steel and ages 10 months in French oak, 40% new.
