In the early1980s, Len and Judy Wiltberger had the opportunity to purchase 30 acres of land overlooking Keuka Lake in Penn Yan. In 1981, the Wiltbergers planted several varieties, including Lemberger and Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc, Riesling, and Vignoles. Keuka Spring's first vintage was in 1985. August Deimel joined the team as head winemaker, crafting his first vintage with the winery in 2012.
