Tasting Notes

Aromas are high-toned with fresh herbs, berries, and evergreen.  The palate is medium-bodied, its cassis and black cherry supported by mineral notes, more herb and drying tannins. There's a refreshing succulence to this red with its snappy acid playing foil to the Mediterranean fruit.

From vines near the eastern coast of Corsica, below the massif of Castagniccia. The proximity of the sea protects the vineyard from excessive drought, while the neighboring mountains (which reach a height of more than 2500 meters) generate cool air at night that refreshes the grapes and allows them to recover from the stress of the day-time heat.

From meticulously farmed vineyards in a unique micro-climate that combines Mediterranean sun with cool air from the sea and nearby mountains, comes this round, spicy, medium-bodied red made from Niellucciu and a smidge of the ancient and rare Corsican variety of Minustellu. Extremely versatile, this wine can be served with pasta or risotto, red meat and game birds, and aged cheeses.

Aged in concrete vats 6 to 12 months with regular stirring.
