WINE INFORMATION
Antonio and Anna are a brother and sister team that are at the helm of production for Azienda Agricola Fabiana. They grew up watching their parents Fabiana and Michele work the land.
This wine is produced in the heel of Italy, Salento. The 30 hectares of vines are grown on clay and limestone soils. The vines are between 20-50 years old and farmed organically. They extend along the Ionian coast in the province of Taranto, with simple Guyot training systems and a high concentration of plants per hectare. They farm only native varietals.
The grapes for this wine are hand harvest at night to keep the bunches intact and preserve acidity in the fruit; after fermentation the wine is aged in tonneau for 6 months.
Negroamaro means black and bitter in Italian. Even though it is not often bitter, but can be quite rich, concentrated and age worthy.
