Tasting Notes

A floral, fresh, and chamomile and savory italian herb nose with moderate aromas of yellow fruit and herbal nuances. Elegant, precise, and fruit-forward on the palate with a slightly creamy texture, classy acidity, and a delicate finish with a trace of melon.

In 1785 Bianchi Giuseppe Maria broke ground on his dream to cultivate new vineyards. His initial efforts have led to eight generations of wine makers.

In the mid-twentieth century, descendent Giuseppe Bianchi was a key figure who, through tenacity and determination, developed the winery to a place of notoriety throughout northern Italy and Switzerland. Daughter, Eva, and her husband, Mario, acquired the holdings in Gattinara and worked to expand the market overseas. Now, Giuseppe's nephew Paolo and sister-in-law, Eva, have developed the winery further by melding innovation with tradition and new technologies in sync with nature, resulting in a new line of sought-after wine.

The Erbaluce grape comes from Piedmont and can be used in dry or sweet wine production. It usually has significant acidity as well as apple and green fruit flavors. The winery also makes several red wines using the Nebbiolo grape as well as vinifying a few other indigenous grapes.
