Tasting Notes

Clean Vermentino with a fruity-fresh first sip.   Aromas of Granny Smith apple, sweet pear, melon, white peach and sweet limes with a hint of exotic fruits.  Crispy and dry on the palate with fantastic minerality. It is a fresh and elegant summer wine, amazing as an aperitif!

ColleMassari is one of the most important and largest estate of the Montecucco appellation in central Tuscany. The vineyards are located on the Montecucco hill that gives name to the appellation.

This is made with organic grapes from vineyards located about 300 meters above the sea level with diverse sun orientation and soil composition. Sandstone soils alternate with marl, ferrous and limestone loamy soils as well as gravel deposits. In connection with this optimum micro-climate, these are ideal requirements for the cultivation of this particular type of vine.

Grapes for this wine came from younger estate vines, sustainably grown on loess soil and harvested manually.  After a night of criomaceration, the vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with temperature control where the wine ages on its lees for 5 months.

Melacce is the name of a river that flows through the property and runs from Monte Aquilaia and crosses a large part of the Cinigiano municipality.
