The nose is clean with some citrus notes. This is a full-bodied style with apricots, peach, yellow fruits and candied citrus. It is slightly spicy with medium acid and some roundness before ending with a long, flinty finish.
WINE INFORMATION
The winery is located in the municipality of Langenlois in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. The winery is managed by Rudolf Sax, who is assisted by twin brothers Rudolf Jr. and Michael Sax. The vineyards cover 22 hectares (55 acres). They are planted with both white and red varieties. Natural viticulture is practised with minimal use of pesticides. Quality criteria are consistent pruning and targeted foliage work adapted to the respective grape variety.
Vinification is carried out using the latest cellar technology. The grapes are processed with extremely gentle pressing. Depending on the type, the wines are matured in stainless steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or in barriques. The white wines mature in the bottle for a few months before being marketed. The premium wines include various Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner Kamptal DAC. Wine chocolate and apricot brandy are also produced.
