Tasting Notes

This wine is good year after year! The texture has some softness and waxiness and yet it's incredibly juicy and mouthwatering at the same time. Dry with subtle raspberry, strawberry, lemon, tangerine and orange peel. This pretty wine is a definite crowd pleaser.

This wine is made by Château Maris, a biodynamic producer in the La Livinière cru in Minervois in the Languedoc. Three partners purchased a run down estate in 1997 and began the process of rehabbing the 79 acres of vineyards. They knew from the start that they would not farm commercially (i.e., using agrochemicals), and an experiment creating and using biodynamic and organic compost and farming methods led them to gain a series of certifications. Even the winery itself, is certified. Made of hemp bricks treated with molasses and limestone.

Fruit for this rosé comes from vines that vary in age between 10-50 years old planted in clay and limestone soils. The grapes are directly pressed with no skin contact and fermented in stainless steel and concrete.
