Tasting Notes

This Riesling is medium weight with attractive apple, peach, apricot and citrus notes. The mouthfeel is roundish, giving the feeling of ripe acidity. This wine offers succulent, generous fruit, yet is clean and lifted.

WINE INFORMATION

Now in the fourth generation, Paul Fuchs has taken over from his father, Henry. The 25-acre estate, spread over several vineyard locations around the town of Ribeauville, has been certified organic since 2008. Grapes for this wine are hand harvested from low yielding, 45-year old vines grown on deep and heavy clayey-silty soils at the base of the village where the microclimate is cold.

The Fuchs family has a great respect for nature and their lands, therefore they seek equilibrium in the vineyards and have a non-interventionist approach in the cellar. They whole-bunch press, use indigenous yeasts and minimize the use of sulphur in order not to interfere with the purity of the wines.
