Floral aromas combine with pear, lime and melon skin on the nose. The palate features abundant fruit – to include yellow apple, yellow plum, and pear in addition to previously-mentioned lime and melon skin – along with orange blossom and notes of dried herbs. This medium-bodied wine has a waxy honeyed texture balanced pleasantly by its medium level of acidity.
Founded in 1751, Casa Ferreirinha is known for still wines from the Douro Valley in Portugal. Its history is inextricably associated with one woman, Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira. Antónia was charismatic, visionary and entrepreneurial. She created new expanses of terraced vineyards, augmented and improved the company´s stocks of old wines, and helped improve the hard lives of local farming families by founding schools, nurseries and hospitals.
