Tasting Notes

Consider Jacquère as the classic spring-summer wine. It is medium weight and fresh with gentle florality, great mineral character, and aromas of alpine meadow. The flavors are predominantly white -- white flowers, cotton, crisp apple and pear flesh, bergamot and breadcrumbs. This is a clean wine that makes a perfect apéritif or partner with light foods.

This is a father-son partnership that has been passed on for generations. Phillippe’s wife, Claudine, is also deeply involved in the business. They grow grapes on 86 acres on four different sites.

Jacquère is the only white grape of the appellation Apremont, a village in the cool-climate Savoie region on the moutainous eastern border of France. This property is located at about 1200 feet above sea level, in the foothills of the French alps (Chartreuse mountain range). It is estimated that 80% of the wine produced in the Savoie is consumed there.

Densely-planted come from 10-60-year old vines on a terroir of scree comprised of larger rocks and marlstone. This wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel where it spends up to six months on its lees.
