Tasting Notes

Aromas of mature, red fruit, spices, eucalyptus, fig and menthol introduce this wine. On the palate, it is intense with mature tannins, good ripeness and savory notes.

Grapes come from vineyards located at 5,600 feet above sea level in the Cafayate Valley. The cool nights and mornings help to slow ripening in this sunny, dry climate, giving balance and freshness to the wines. They are harvested by hand from low-yielding, younger vines.

Cafayate is a boutique winemaking region in Northwest Argentina--a small and isolated valley where the desert climate, sandy soils and high altitude (6,000 feet) promote the production of high quality grapes and exceptional wines.

Dos Minas is a project created by two women, one from Salta, Northwest Argentina and the other from Los Angeles, California, who wanted to feature the emblematic wines of Argentina made in such a unique place like Cafayate. The slang “minas” in “Dos Minas” is used colloquially in Argentina to affectionately refer to females of any age. Lucía Romero, the Argentine ‘mina’ is the director of her family winery located in that area. Heather Willens is the Californian 'mina' who has worked for many years in the wine industry and lived in Argentina when they started this project. Nowadays she lives between Europe and the USA.
