Aromas are very red-fruited at first, but as the wine opens the profile becomes darker on both the nose and palate.  Notes of blackberry pie, black cherries, and a touch of smoke lead to more juicy black fruits on the palate. Blackberries and raspberries are braced by fine, youthful tannins on a medium to medium-plus frame.
